Perfume is next to bags and shoes my favorite obsession. My collection includes drugstore and high-end goodies, I don’t discriminate! I’m truly a fan of beautiful perfume bottles, they are so nice to look at, definitely eyecatchers. My obsession for perfume started at first with sweet girly scents. My preference was flower scented perfumes with a sweet touch. As I’m getting older and look further than my horizon, I tend to go for perfumes with a wooden undertone. This doesn’t mean I gave up sweet girly flower-scented perfumes. It’s more like I upgraded it to a more grown woman flower wooden scent. If you know what I mean? I also change my perfume like my wardrobe during the seasons. It’s like I’m adjusting it to my mood and weather. How colder the season, how warmer and sensual my perfume gets.
I don’t have a top 3/5/10 list because I like them all. However, I would like to start with Dior Pure Poison because it was for a long while on my mind to buy. My sister bought it for herself and I got hooked on it too. It has a flower oriental scent, which makes the perfume feminine and sensual. It gives that warm feeling whenever you smell it. It also stays so long; you don’t smell it but the people around you will. So, don’t forget to shine because you’ll get random compliments during your day!
I received Perfect from Marc Jacobs from Glamour Magazine NL to review. I fell first in love with the bottle! It’s so pretty and cute. Even the story behind the name of the perfume is something that is amazing. Marc Jacobs got Perfect tattooed on his arm, to celebrate being perfect just the way he is and wanted to share with you all that you’re also perfect the way you are. What I love about the scent is that you smell the warmth of cedarwood, and it ends with a sweet finishing touch.
s.Oliver Black Label is yet again a flower scent perfume. However; it has an undertone scent of fruits. It starts first with the nuts from an orange, mandarin and a peach. After that comes the scent of flowers roses, jasmine and lilacs. It ends with the aroma from vanilla and musk. It’s just perfect, the feeling of warmth and sweetness in one! I also like the bottle; it looks simple and yet chic.
Chloe Nomade is the perfume I bought for myself for my birthday. As I have written in my blogpost, it became a tradition to buy perfume for my birthday. The bottle reminds me of the water bottle cowboys take with them when they ride their horses through the desert. The scent has a subtle flower and fruits scent. But the smell is not girly at all. It feels more like a warm day and out of the blue you feel a cold breeze. You know the smell is there, but it will surprise you how the smell changes when you smell it during your day.
Last but definitely not least, is L’Interdit by Givenchy. I fell in love with in since visiting Glamour Beauty Festival. It is also my first ‘’grown up’’ perfume. It is the first one I bought with more a wooden undertone. This one also stays long that you don’t need to spray much. L’Interdit means forbidden in French, it was created in 1957 by Hubert de Givenchy. It was made for Audrey Hepburn; she wore it for a year before its release to the public. She became also the first actress who got to be the face of a perfume. Now such a thing is indispensable, gorgeous actresses representing a perfume everywhere!
