COLLAB | Lifestyle | Room Inspiration & Room Decor Statement Pieces.

My room is my favourite place in the house. It’s a place I spend most of my time in. If the walls could talk, they will tell you everything I have been trough. So, you can imagine I like to take care of my little place.

I like to keep things organised and tidy. I love to use my space usefully because it gives order in my head. So, I’m a big fan of drawer organising and was happy to find acrylic organisers at my local dollar store, called Action. Europeans know which store I mean, a store that makes us happy! Not only I keep my makeup organised, but also my jewellery and my sunglasses. It creates a clear view of the stuff that I have. It’s quick and easy to pick up when I need something from the drawer.

I am without a doubt happy with my clothing rack purchase. I hang my outfits for a week on it, so that I don’t need to search for it in the morning. When it comes to shoes for the week, I put it on the shelf right under the rack. For the shoes I don’t have space for, I use a trolley to organise them. The trolley comes so in handy, because of the wheels under it. I just roll it out of the space, it fits perfectly there.

After organising I like to spice up my room with decorations. I’m obsessed with the statement posters I received from Gallerix. The posters framed in a black wooden frame, reminds me of my roots. I haven’t been to Morocco for four years now and I miss it a lot! The city poster reminds me of the memories that I have during my stay in Morocco. Like visiting my local souk(market) where I bought the jewellery box. A true statement decoration!

The Sheikh Zayed mosque in Dubai poster caught my eye, same goes for the Ornate Entrance door. It gives me that Arabic aesthetics that I truly love.

With code Saida30 (valid till 26th of February) you’ll get 30% off at Gallerix. Happy shopping!

Disclaimer: the poster has been gifted to me. Posters and frames has been chosen by myself.

Lifestyle | Mental Rehab!

My mental health has lately my focus. I’m always trying to acknowledge my feelings and emotions to stay true to myself. I learned the hard way; mental health is not something to take it slightly. Before realising this, I went through the process of getting to know myself better. I realised that writing and reading is my way to escape my daily routine and my overthinking. It has been ages since I have read a good book! I also used to write daily in my dairy, that has been ages too! Thinking about it makes me feel guilty towards myself because I enjoyed doing it so much.

I feel that my mind is hungry for information and spirituality. When I was younger, I devoured books daily. As I’m getting older it went from daily basis to weekly basis, monthly basis to practically non. As you can imagine my mind just wanted entertainment easy, no hustle and fast. Hello, social media and Netflix! It feels like an addiction, and it is time to have a mental rehab!

Like rehab, I’m taking it step by step. For my spirituality hunger I was searching for a book that reminds me of my faith. Daily Wisdom selections from the Holy Quran came as a blessing on my path! I love reading in it when my emotions are all over the place, including calmness and happiness. For that extra faith boost I started to read the book Reclaim Your Heart by Yasmin Mogahed. Such an eye opener! Making notes helps me a lot too, perfect way to get it into my system because I want to start writing in my diary again.

To start my day good, when I wake up in the morning, I write in my Five-Minute Journal from Intelligent Change. The journal works amazing, you’re indeed only busy with it for 5 minutes! Which is perfect for when you have a busy day or when you’re not really in the mood for it. The weekly challenges, morning gratitude, daily affirmations and more really helps with having a good morning and night routine. It also encourages a healthy mind set and productivity!

What do you do for a mental rehab?

Lifestyle | The Importance Of Mental Health.

Normally I don’t talk about too personal subjects on my blog, even though I have a public ‘’social media life’’ I still would like to keep somethings private. However, the subject I’m going to write about is close to my heart. In a good and a bad way.

During my childhood and teens, I lived a normal life, a typical girl who lived through the ups and downs that life threw at me. I felt and still feel blessed because it made me who I am. As I was growing up live kicked me hard and I desperately needed to set back. In 2013 my rock, my everything, my heart, my lovely mother got sick. She suffered majorly with her mental health and physical health. My world stopped, everything in my life stopped. My studies lacked my focus, my hobbies, my social contacts, literally everything. The only ‘’me time’’ I had was going to work for two hours during the workweek. Eventually even that felt oppressive.

Understandably the health of my mother became my priority. My family and me were focused on getting my mother to feel better, to become better. From doctor appointments to visiting the mental health clinic to visiting the hospital and regulating her medicines, that was our focus. Next to it came maintaining our household. Cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, my little brothers going to school, my father to work and me visiting my college classes depending on who can be home at that moment, so that my mother wouldn’t be alone. Or going only to my exams, which I even didn’t learn for. We all did everything on automatic pilot.

As you can guess, of course there would be a moment in time that my body is going to shut down. It was time to take a good look in my mirror. It was during my current study for Pedagogy that I realised: I need to stop. I started to promise myself that I need to work on myself! I started to work out, started to go out with my sister, grab a coffee with a friend, hang out with my family and do some shopping. You would think that it was a good thing, meanwhile my feelings about the whole situation started to eat me up. Overthinking, being and feeling annoyed about the little things, binge eating or not eating for hours, being irritated, crying without any reason and being angry about everything and everyone became my way of life. I was ignoring the source of my true emotions, literally. That resulted into tumbling at the edge of a burn out. I felt tired all the time! Mentally, physically, and emotionally. I felt gloomy and dejected.

In January 2018 I made an appointment with my doctor after I almost fainted in the middle of an aisle, when I was running for errands. I felt so dizzy that I felt like I was in a washing machine. If I didn’t hold on to the shopping shelf, I probably would kiss the floor. It was my wakeup call! My anxiety went through the roof, questions like: what’s wrong with me? What Happened? Why? Am I sick? I don’t feel good! My body is crushing down! Omg what is wrong! How sick am I! When I told my doctor what my symptoms were, I felt a bit reassurance. My journey to therapy begun.

I was the best decision I made in my life! I truly felt relieved, especially when I chose for group therapy. I met new people, talked, and heard their stories. It was a beautiful experience; it sounds scary to share your story with others. However, I felt understood and didn’t feel alone. My education during this time helped me a lot too. The classes about psychology and the role plays as professional and patient were an eye-opener! Step by step I felt good again. I felt more and more confident about myself. My life went as it should, I was better able to cope with my home situation. Therapy helped me so much that I started with it again just three weeks ago! This time individually; this time it is not about me being on the edge of insanity, it is about me being strong enough to talk about myself and not about my home situation. It is about me figuring out why I handle things my way. It is about getting to know myself even better.

The moral of this long story, seek professional help, any help. It is like the phrase: ‘’you can run but you can’t hide.’’ Once you face it, you’re going to feel such a big confidence in yourself, that you know the true meaning of your existence. When you read this blogpost, I hope that my story is going to be your first step into your journey of working on your mental health. You’re truly not alone!

Lifestyle | Apps I Use For Blogging & Instagram.

I’m someone who reads other blogs and search online about apps bloggers/influencers use to make their social media life easier and practical. Bloggers out there know blogging means commitment and apps helps a lot with it! I want to share my apps, maybe you didn’t know these helpful ‘’blogging elves’’ yet.

I’m going to start with the most important thing when it becomes to blogging, studying and working. Having your own space! It doesn’t matter how big or small your house is, having a place where you can work peacefully is a must. Mine is my room and in particularly my desk, where I have everything around me from magazines to get inspiration to a pen and paper to scribble down my thoughts. I understand that for everyone it is different. Sitting on the floor in the middle of chaos called life is perfectly fine too.

The app that I use for my blog is of course WordPress. I found this platform the perfect way to blog. It is easy to work with, it has many options and when you need help WordPress is there to help you quickly and understandable. The next app I use is Business Suite from Facebook, I use it for my Facebook page. When I want to share my blogposts, I use it and to see my statistics. What I also use is Bloglovin’. It is a platform for bloggers who share their blog that you can follow to read their new blogposts. I use it for inspiration and read other blogs, it also helps to redirect readers to your blog! The next one I use is Telegram. This app I mostly use to share my Instagram posts in groups for more exposure. The only app I use for ambassadorships is Brandbassador. By promoting their products by sharing a code, you get commission every time your code is being used.

For my Instagram stories and the latest Twitter Fleets, I use the apps Unfold and StoriesEdit. I love these apps because it adds flair to my stories. For the annoying follow to unfollow people I use Unfollowers for Intsagram and Unfollow for my Twitter. It also shows ghost followers and interactions you get on your accounts. It works perfectly for when your account is public. Unwanted interactions are easy to maintain and easy to block them. Hallelujah for this!

What kind of apps do you use?

LIFESTYLE | Club 30! Perks Of Being In Your 30s.

Hello September! Hello birthday month! Hello, making it a month to remember! Am I making you excited too? I bet I’m not the only one who gets this feeling, when you’re alive and well and your birthday month is coming up. However, I do believe some of you could have a mixed feeling about getting older. Even I don’t feel like a kid in a candy store over the years I’m getting older. Since years ago, I don’t celebrate my birthday in the sense of throwing a big party and invite whoever I can and of course, want. Celebrating my birthday means to me, celebrating being grateful. Let me take you to the perks aisle of being in your 30s.

I don’t know about my fellow 31 years clubbers, but I truly believe in: getting older means getting wiser. I’m not talking about not making mistakes or following strictly the rules of life and not coloring outside the lines, not that it is a bad thing. I’m talking about having a different mindset from what you had when you were in your 20s. Those mistakes become learning moments. Those strictly living by the rules of life becomes having experiences in live. Coloring inside the lines becomes thinking outside the box.

Because of this mindset, your confidence keeps growing whenever your life experiences become learned experiences. Old situations become better to handle and new situations become easier to start with. Not only how you adjust to situations and your emotions, your thoughts and opinion changes when your getting older. Don’t forgot the relationships you have. In terms of love, family and friends. Aware and unaware you hold on too who are important to you and who brings you joy and love. You will not tolerate childish behavior, disrespect and ignorance. It will be easier to cut ties. When you do: hello drama free life!

Holding to things that makes you happy is also something that you are going to do. It will become something that you truly treasure. As I have written earlier, every year I’m celebrating being grateful. It became a tradition in my life to go out to dinner with my family. Celebrating them for always being there for me. I love them around me! My birthday is also a moment to reflect about myself. How I did the last couple of months. I’m grateful about what I achieved with my studies and blog. I’m going to graduate next year, and I still love my blog after 7 years. I have collaborated with brands that I’m very proud of! I also celebrate my mental health. Sounds crazy, but it helps a lot when I look back to moments that was hard for me and be proud about how I conquered it. I also gift myself perfume, because it is well deserved. Why perfume? Because that beautiful bottle is pretty to look at and the scent represents your lovely and sexy self.

The aisle of perks is coming to an end. Welcome to getting older and less f*cks to give!

Lifestyle | How I Instagram. Tips & Hashtags!

Let me first start with a small disclaimer to this blogpost: I’m not a social media expert, I’m just sharing my way how to be besties with Instagram and her algorithm. Because what I’ve learned from the last six years of blogging and using social media is: Regina George aka Instagram is indeed a mean girl!

I have noticed that there is big difference between social media and blogging then and now. When I first started everything was literally blooming in the social media and blogging field. Everyone was trying to make place for themselves in the field. There were also less exactly the same flowers blooming. Now the field is full of influencers, not a bad thing! They are just better in how to bloom. Secondly, everyone has his or her own way to express themselves on Instagram. I am someone who takes is slow and not seriously, in the meaning of not rushing to hit the big ‘’K’’. 10k, 15k etc. On my Instagram I have 7k (in a lifespan of 6 years) lovely followers who are perfectly enough for me. Especially when I blog only part-time and not for business, but for pleasure.

What worked for me the most, and it sounds cliché, be yourself! No need to photoshop, shrink waists or legs. First, you’re pretty the way you are, and it takes a lot of your time before you post it on your feed! Use this time for something else, like eating a cupcake.

So, my first tip Loves: do you prefer edits on your feed: only a filter is more than enough. Trust me, less is more. Go for a more natural filter. The pink, orange, purple and blue filter is already taken! By a lot…Be Different with the filters. My second tip Loves: don’t use a filter? Like me. I only edit my pictures with the features that comes with your phone or Instagram itself. I only change the brightness and the contrast of my pictures. That’s it! These slightly changes are more than enough, you’ll notice the change instantly. My third tip: keep one colored background of your choice trough your feed. My favorite? White! Even when I post an outfit the natural light works fine. No white background? No worries! I then use something white in my picture. No white background at all? Again, no worries! Adjusting the brightness gives my pictures a white haze. As long the color white occurs, I’m perfectly fine with it. Tip four: find a rhythm of posting on your feed. For example: I start first with posting product pictures after that with outfits after that again product pictures after that selfies. So, on and on. This way to keep it matchy and variously on my feed. Tip five: hashtags! Hashtags! Hashtags! I can’t say it enough Loves. Using them works perfect for me. Also, post them in your caption post! If you wait even for a second to post them in a comment, they’re pretty worthless, as your post will be buried in that hashtag feed the instant you add it. Use popular hashtags, even when they don’t match your niche. I use sometimes celebrities’ names, brands, trending topics and random hashtags. I do this to change my position in Instagram, so that my picture can be find in every corner of the social media field. Last tip Loves: interact! The best way to get exposure is to interact with you followers, your readers and other bloggers. Support also other bloggers who are new in the field. Help them bloom too! I do this by being an admin of a lady’s only group on Instagram. We ladies support each other by liking, commenting and following each other. Want to be in my group too? Slide into my Dm! Sharing is caring, literally.

To end this blogpost Loves, feel free to copy and paste the hashtags! Remember: change them regularly with popular hashtags.

Event Report | ”Tick Tock…It’s Luxury O’ Clock.”

What I love the most about blogging is meeting new people. Especially when they welcome you with open arms. This is how I felt by the invite from lovely Mentari, the owner of Labeldeluxe.nl. The press event was hosted in Amsterdam at a pop-up store. The shop was small, I loved it. It gave me warmth and a personal feeling. It looked also very chic, what you could expect from luxury stores.

Speaking about luxury, when I look at the watches from Label Deluxe, I wander myself in luxury heaven. Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Karl Lagerfeld and Furla are some names you can find at the web shop. As you know me, I’m a sucker for classic items and I assure you you’ll find them at Label. Not only they have watches, but also jewelry. Which not only looks beautiful on your wrists, fingers, neck or ears but even in your jewelry box! It is also the perfect gift to give to loved ones. With Christmas right around the corner, is a timeless piece a worthy gift to give. It stays forever and never goes out of style. Absolutely the definition of long lasting!

Luxury equals popping bottles! Even though I don’t drink alcohol, these bottles are definitely eyecatchers. Especially now that there is a beautiful story behind the glitter bottles. The ingredients are vegan and organic. You also don’t need to be worried about the glitters on the bottles. The sparkle is eco-friendly! Which means biodegradable. Not only does Foodboard.nl think about the environment, but also the people. When you purchase the limited-edition bottles, the profit goes straight to a specialist center for people with COPD. It stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. The disease narrows the lungs, you literally want to gasp air. The bubbles of the chardonnay or prosecco represents air (bubbles) we can’t live without. I couldn’t agree more with their feel good, look good, do good motto!

Beauty Brands Agency was also present at the press event. I loved so much talking to the owner! She told me about the agency and the brands her agency represents. What I love about their work, is that they have a unique way to reach their brands and consumers. Their 360° brand activation strategy is a perfect approach for it. What I also love, is that they name the brands love brands. The brands are from all over the world and Beauty Brands Agency shares their beauty secrets.

When I think about luxury, I think about gold. The Devine Sensation body and facial sprays from Beaudelor.nl has literally golden leaves for a natural glow. I tried it at the event, I’m hooked! Imagine my happiness when I found an sample in the goodie bag. The key ingredients are gold and cashmere, definitely two ingredients to feel luxury on your skin.

The beauty world is very innovative. I was surprised to hear that Nomige.com works with your DNA and your own personal lifestyle to make products that exactly matches your DNA and lifestyle. Sounds so interesting! Using science for beauty is without a doubt the definition of luxury. Don’t be surprised about the price tag! Then again, you’ll have something unique based only on your skin type.

I had such an amazing time. Especially because I went with my big brother. After the press event we had dinner and fun as dessert. It was a perfect day!

Have you ever been at a press event?

Lifestyle | Am I An Influencer Or Blogger?

This is a question I ask myself since the word influencer got a place in our vocabulary. I started with my blog five years ago and I see big differences from the moment I started until today. I still enjoy writing a blogpost, take pictures and hit the publish button. This hobby is something I would like to keep! But even I cannot deny that the blogging world is changed, this change you either love or hate it. And I have certainly mixed feelings about it!

These thoughts started for me since I noticed that my blog doesn’t get the interactions I use to have. Follows, comments and likes are pluming down and I don’t like it! I’m not hungry for them however, they do show appreciation for my hard work. These interactions are to me proof that I did a good job, I feel appreciated that I get them. You can say that it feels like getting an A for your exam. A good feeling, right?

Yes, I do understand to keep those interactions you should have a strategy. You should know when to post, which hashtags you should use and know all the algorithms of all your social media! Does this not sound to you as an annoying person yapping into your ears? It makes me only feel pressured, doesn’t feel like fun to me. This is the change that I don’t like in the blogging world. To stay relevant, it has to be bigger and better. Or you are just like a needle in a ‘’influencer haystack’’. Don’t let me speak about the dramas that comes with it! #jamescharlesisoverparty #mannymuaiscancelled and many other hashtags that came to life. Ugh, the dragging down of each other, those feuds! To me it is just a waste of time. We all are in the same boat, why is it so hard to mind your own business and be kind and respectful towards each other? And I’m not only talking about these beauty gurus. How about those Instagram influencers who feel too high of themselves to answer a simple blogging related question, because they think that you want to steal their secrets?

Don’t get me wrong, I know how it feels to work hard for something that you put your heart into. And that you want to keep some secrets to yourself because of it. I definitely don’t blame you for this! It is your right to do so however, chill. No need for attitudes! I’m a firm believer of the give and take life motto. Nothing wrong answering a question about which filter you use for your Instagram feed.

To answer my own question, am I an influencer or a blogger? I liked to be called a blogger. I understand the influencing part when it comes to blogging. I write about brands that I love and are bought by myself, but I also worked with brands who sponsored me. I create an opinion about the product, my opinion can be followed or not. Because of it, I influence too. Why am I calling myself a blogger? Because in the five years of my blogging life, I never ‘’took’’ something I don’t believe in. I never got paid for something, I never felt pressured to write a fake blogpost about it. I’m to down-to-earth for that, thank God! Who wants to live in a plastic fantastic world? Not me. I call myself a blogger, because in the five years I blog I have not created a following that are so big, that I can make a brand for myself to sell my own merchandise. I call myself a blogger, because I still write blogposts. My blog is my own creative world, where I can be creative on my own terms and still have a good conscience.

What is your opinion about influencing?

Event Report | Glamour Magazine NL X Rabobank.

‘’It’s all about the money, money, money!’’ A subject that concerns us all. Some live paycheck to paycheck, some live like royals and some cannot even come near a price tag. We rule money and money rules us. So, I was happy to get invited by GlamourNL to attend the event hosted by GlamourNL itself and Rabobank, a Dutch bank. My first thought was: perfect! Maybe I’ll hear great tips for saving money. The method I have for saving money is still going strong, but let’s learn more.

As expected, GlamourNL hosted the event in a beautiful venue in Amsterdam at the Vondelpark. Without a doubt I took pictures and shared them on my Instagram. I was excited about, not only I wanted to be informed about the ins and outs of money, but I also went to it with Esra. Going to an event was a first to her. I loved how excited she was, I believe that she learned a lot from it. Definitely an educated fun day!

We have been told by editor in chief Anke de Jong what to expect during the event. It started with a #bossbabe from Rabobank, who spoke about investing, interest, ratios and all money subjects you can think of. I was more interested in advice on how to save money and different ways to earn money. I have heard the usual, don’t smoke, don’t go to coffee to go shops. Save that money in a jar! After the informative part came personal stories from behind the scene #bossbabes from GlamourNL. I loved hearing their personal stories! How they save money, how did they make good investments when they bought their houses. Their experience felt real, because one day in the future I want to think about doing a mortgage, or not. Either way hearing their experiences helped a lot. It was also a pleasure to hear how they earn an extra next to their jobs. Selling online your stuff was one of them, which made me think that I should do it more often, then just once in a while. I’m sure I got plenty of things to sell that I can make someone else happy with!

Entrepreneurs Ron Simpson from The Avocado Show and Noor de Groot of Queen of Jet Lags were also speaking at the event. I loved hearing how their dreams became real by jumping into their ‘’dare it’’ motivation! At the end, its indeed the best motivation to make your dreams come true.

I also loved hearing from Ron that once you get, give back. Help others in the best way you can. A perfect saying to finish the event of….And this blogpost.

Lifestyle | ”So, What Do You Study?”

On my Instagram I show you a glimpse of my daily college life. I study in Amsterdam and I go there by train and the subway. I travel for my college almost an hour and if there are no public transport delays, I don’t mind the travel. After years of switching studies and personal setbacks, am I finally in a good place. I am in the middle off my third year of college and still need one year to graduate. Even though I got difficult reports to make and I have to make hard exams, is my motivation still high to make the most of it!

Sometimes I need to remind myself to stay productive. I shared with you how I prepare for my college, it is still the way how I do it. Planning and making to-do lists help me very well. Let us be honest, same old routines take the best of us! Without it I don’t know what to do and with it, I forget to take care of myself because I’m so busy with it. My study does bring me stress, especially these last months I have left. My simple ways to relieve stress comes definitely in handy!

So, I study Pedagogy. Freely translated it means educational theory. The British encyclopedia says about pedagogy  that it is a study of teaching methods, including the aims of education and the ways which such goals may be achieved, the field relies heavily on educational psychology, which encompasses scientific theories of learning, and to some extend on the philosophy of education, which considers the aims and value of education from a philosophical perspective.

The target audience are children and young adults aged from 0 to 23 years. The main focus is to create a safe haven for them, involving the parents or guardians and if relevant, other care providers. The reason why I chose this study is because I’m very curious about the human mind. The second thing is that I’m a very caring individual and would like to help others with their hardships and psychological struggles. I get a lot of satisfaction from a counseling process where I see a client grow and getting back on his or her own two feet.

This is it Loves; this is the reason why I don’t post often on my blog. But don’t worry, college is almost over which means, almost back to my blogging business!

Lifestyle | @SaidaChahidPhotography

As I said in my biography Loves, is being creative an intense way to express yourself. I started with blogging because I want to have my own little place where I can write, use my creativity at taking colorful product photos. Because of it my love for taking photos started to grow. Getting compliments of the photos I take for my blog, certainly helped me taking photography to a next level. My second Instagram account is born, SaidaChahidPhotography. I started this pure to try it out, to give you a glimpse through my camera. I’ll see where this new journey takes me!

So, I already have you meet my camera. Since I have it, it is my showpiece of my whole blogging life. Almost five years and still counting! For this feed I want to have a raw unedited portfolio. No filter, no small adjustment and no photoshop! It felt to be honest so good to do it this way. On my main Instagram account, I only make my photos slightly lighter or adjust a photo to have a white haze, so it matches my feed. I also make the contrast a bit darker. I don’t use a special app for this, the settings in Instagram works fine. I don’t need to much fuss, imagine my feeling when I only use a caption and hashtags for my photography account and hit share. Perfect!

My thoughts for my photography are pretty simple. Whatever looks interesting to me, I’ll shoot it. During summer I shot an outfit in this park. The bows were full in bloom, you’ll see red roses everywhere. It was so beautiful! This time I shot this shot during winter and it gave me a cold view.

A while ago I went with family on a small road trip to Belgium. We visited the Atomiun and of course I needed to take photos of it. I shot many angles, but the one where I stand under it impressed me the most. I could see and feel how massive the bulbs were. The reflection of the sun on them, gave it a futuristic vibe. I imagined than how it would be during the night!

COLLAB |Lifestyle| Packing It With Gaston Luga. 15% Off With SAIDA.

Who isn’t curious about what people take with them in their bags? Just admit Loves, there is something mysterious about it. It is so personal, because of it you will get a person a little bit better. So, get to know me more!

First, I want to tell you about the backpack. It is from Gaston Luga, a Swedish brand that cares about animal wellbeing! The leather they use is made out of polyurethane leather. The material looks and feels like real leather but is lighter and easier maintainable.

I rarely use a backpack but on this one I’m hooked! I love how it is small but has the right size. The golden details and black is a perfect combination and the first thing that I noticed about the bag is that it’s made from good quality! It feels firm and well stitched. On the inside there are three compartments, one for a 11inch or 13inch laptop. Which is a perfect fit for my MacBook air! The other compartments have the same size, I use it for my passport and business cards.

Going further with what’s in my bag Loves, is my makeup bag. I have this cute one from Hunkemöller, the Victoria Secret of Europe also my work place as a sales employee. I love how it stays firm, it doesn’t dent because of the other things I take with me or due to any other pressures. Next thing I take with me is of course my wallet. Yes, I like big ones so I can take all my cards with me. From credit cards to discount cards to business cards from brands or people I meet. I also make my wallet personal, there is a picture of my mother in it at the age of 16, my little niece and little brothers. I wish I could take a whole photo album of my dear family with me!

My phone, a thing I can’t live without. Not only to be attainable, but also to work on my blog, make college appointments and listen to music. Which makes me go to the next thing I have in my bag: earplugs. I feel like I lost something when I forgot to take it with me. Listening to music is a thing I do when I’m on the road to college or during workout. It makes me escape my daily routines and thoughts!

When it comes to writing down appointments or exams dates, am I a fan of paper planners or diary. Same goes for notebooks. I write a lot of notes and other scribbles simple because I tend to forget things to do or I get inspired about something and I need to write it down.

So, I’m happy packed with Gaston Luga! You can too Loves, because you can use my code SAIDA for 15% off! You also get a FREE toiletry bag and gift wrapping at your purchase. Perfect for a valentine’s day gift or just for yourself, because selfcare is important too. Either way, happy shopping Loves!

Lifestyle | 10 Things I Can’t Live Without.

As I’m writing this blogpost, I’m feeling thankful. I do what I love on a laptop that I wanted and needed. Not only do I use it for my blogging, but also for my college. Making reports to writing blogposts and store pictures is just a glimpse of what I do on my laptop.

The next item I can’t live without, just like many Loves, is my phone. I got an iPhone 8+ and it works perfectly. It is just like my laptop, but in a small size. Again, I do everything with it. Post something on my social media to making notes.

Writing about notes, notebooks! You always will find one in my bag. They are perfect for writings and for to-dos. I also write my blog ideas in it, quick college notes and other scribbles. I am a hoarder when it comes to notebooks. When I see cute ones, I can’t resist to take it and put in the shopping basket. I have them in different shapes and sizes, it is truly like an addiction!

Drinking lots of water is such a struggle, I even forget it! Simply because I’m too busy during my day. To remind myself I got myself a water bottle, a sugar pink one that I put in my bag for on the go.

To relax and have me time after a hectic day, I light candles in my room. When I put the lights out and put a movie on or watch a series on Netflix I come to rest. My body goes instantly into the relaxing mode. I can watch good series or a movie for hours! On top of that, it suits my room decor perfectly.

As I’m writing this list, I have ended up with beauty related items. Wipes are definitely something I need in my bag. They come such in need when I just have eaten between my classes or I feel that my hands need a wipe.

I have to use hand cream after using wipes or washing my hands. My hands tend to feel taut and dry. So, I had to add it into my list! I feel so annoyed when I don’t find one in my bag that I let them in my bags for when I take another bag with me.

Same goes for lip gloss! I’m hooked on the ones from Dior. They are quite long lasting that I only apply it once or twice during my day. Even the glow fades away, I still feel my lips are well moisturized.

When I make myself ready to go, either to my classes or run errands, I have to use perfume. It turned into a habit for me. After using deodorant, I spray perfume on my neck, wrists and on my clothes and hair. I love how the scent pops up when you move during the day!

Jewellery is the last item on my list. If you know me well Loves, I love to add flair into an outfit. Jewellery adds that flair! I feel quite ‘’naked’’ when I forget to put earrings on or rings around my fingers. I just love how it looks on my hands and wrists!

What are your favourite items you can’t live without?

Lifestyle | Coffee Table Books.

I have a love and hate relationship with books. When I was younger, I devoured book after book, from novels to biographies. As I got older, I slacked reading them and the rise of social media didn’t help me either. To be honest I miss those days where I dropped my backpack in a corner and went straight to my room to read my favourite book at the moment.

I’m trying to get that feeling back so, I smile when I find the perfect coffee table book to start with getting back into the reading rhythm. The short poems/stories from Rupi Kaur is one of my favourites at the moment. Some are so relatable, funny and sad at the same time. Definitely books that takes you riding back to your memory lane.

Fashion related books makes me smile too. The quotes give you a glimpse of the thoughts from fashion designers and stylists. It is fun to read and some you need to take with a grain of salt. I love the pictures or illustrations you’ll find in the books. Many are taken or drawn by well know photographers and illustrators who works behind the scenes of a photoshoot, event or even a fashion magazine! So, not only it gives me a glimpse of their thoughts but, also the events they visited and since I like to visit events for my blog is it for me fascinating to look at.

Same goes for the book How to be Parisian wherever you are, from Sophie Mas, Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret and Anne Berest. The book is about love, style and bad habits with many anecdotes and how-to. A book that makes you take life not seriously and enjoy the moment. Perfect for days when you want to laugh and imagine you wandering styled like a Parisian in the middle of Paris in the Larudée shop eating your favourite macaron and sipping tea. Ugh…Dreaming about it already!

Which book do you like to have on your coffee table? Share it with me and maybe I’ll add it too!

Lifestyle | I’m Ready For Autumn.

Is it just me? Autumn sounds better than fall. Autumn comes to its right when I pronounce it like that. I instantly think about falling leaves in the colour orange, yellow and brown. I think about chestnuts and acorns on the ground that crunches when you step on it without knowing. I like when the sun still shines even though you feel the wind blowing on your face. Autumn is not my favourite season, but the colourful nature is beautiful to look at.

New season means also to me, where I stand with my goals. Which goals I already achieved, and which one are not achievable. Some goals I’ll change and some goals I’m letting go. Either way, I reflect on what I have done and what needs to be done. I also take my mind off things so, I read some books. I’m lately into short stories or poems. It gives me that boost to go on.

Autumn = candles obsession! I light them mostly every night when I want to read or watch movies and series on Netflix. It also gives that cosy vibe in my room, I love it!

Room decorating is also a thing I like to do. I keep it simple, just changing small décor items. I like to match it with the colours of my room, which are black, white, rose gold and marble. I have a little crush on the rose gold clock and apple. It gives my room that finishing touch.

During autumn my wardrobe also changes, obviously. I namely wear ankle boots because it makes my legs look longer. Especially when I wear black ankle boots with a black skinny jean. I also tend to wear autumn colours, like black and grey. I adjust my accessories too, also in warm colours. Like my brown basket.

Now, my autumn beauty routine. I get a combination of oily and dry skin, so I apply another facial crème than my usual facial creme. My makeup changes too, especially the colours. I prefer to use pink and glowy beige for that natural glow. The perfume that I use during the new season goes to musk and arum instead of summer scents. My go to perfume at the moment is Trussardi My Name.

I’m trying to enjoy the fullest this season because of these simple things. Are you ready for autumn too Loves?

Note To Loves | I’m On Vaycay, See You Soon! XO S.

It has been two years since I’ve been on a vacation, that sounds crazy! I missed everything about my roots: the culture, architecture, mosaics and the colourful souks. The natural beauty products and their traditional fashionable clothing. Gosh, I missed my great grandmother and her feminist stories with a touch of humour! Her laughs and her wise life lessons, I missed her a lot. I missed the farm of my grandfather and the sound of his voice when he calls me or my little brothers from far. As a born and raised Moroccan girl in the Netherlands, is the Moroccan vibe we have here not the same as in Morocco. Surely, versatile Morocco.

I’m going to Morocco by car, driven by my hero of a dad. We go through Belgium, France and Spain before we take the ferry to Tangiers. It’s going to be a long trip, but definitely one with joy and a touch of annoyance, because of sleepyheads that drops on your shoulders.

The first thing that I do is settle in our home. I have the habit to go through every room and corner to visually remind myself of memories that I have experienced in our home. Then I visit my room and make it my own and homey as soon as possible! Only then I’m able to rest and enjoy my vacay. Loves, are you excited as I am? Follow my journey during my trip on my Instagram and see a glimpse of Morocco and get inspired!

During my vacay I hope to work on my time management. I really want to learn it, because I’m juggling between my studies, blog work and chores. It’s like that 24 hours isn’t enough! I worked with planners and to do lists, it’s not working for me. If you have any tips Loves, share them with me! I’m happy to try them out.

Back to my vacay: you can read my excitement, yay! Have you been to Morocco or another Islamic country? I’m curious about your experience, if you blogged about it feel free to share your links.

Lifestyle | How I Spend My Lazy Summer Days.

Oh, lazy summer days I waited for you with yearn. Since you came I want to spend my summertime with joy and laziness, hello life! You can imagine my feeling when you finish your college semester, or you go to your well-deserved holiday after months of hard work. My pre vacay days (Morocco here I come!) started and I want to share with you Loves how I spend my lazy summer days.

The most important thing I do is adjusting my night’s rest. During my studies I sleep sometimes just for three or four hours for days. Especially the days when I’m busy writing reports and learn for my exams. Those days are horrible, because at the end I’m feeling it in body and mind. I’ll be less energetic and cranky during my day. So, I’m trying to get at least six to eight hours sleep during my pre vacay days. When I wake up I feel so rested that I feel truly flourished and I will enjoy my day.

My semester is over so, I have more time to read other things than my study books. I like to read true crime stories like Judas from Astrid Holleeder or short poems/stories like Milk & Honey from Rupi Kaur. Either I want to wander in a true story, a short one where I can catch some feelings or flip senseless trough magazines.

What I also do is pampering myself. It can be easy as doing my makeup, fixing my hair or take a hot shower and moisture my body with a moisturizing body lotion. These simple things are to me like a quick confident boost, I feel self-confidence and energetic and ready to rock my day.

Obviously, Netflix belongs into my lazy summer days. Watching episodes, a whole season and feeling empty when I’m finished it, is just rooted in my daily work. I confess: Netflix is like a drug. I get easily hooked when I show is so good!

What are your summer lazy day moments Loves?

Lifestyle | My Desk & Room Decor Ideas.

Am I the only one who has a habit of alteration when a new season comes up? During spring and summer, I prefer my room all tide up, open, minimal and invariably in the colours white, black, marble and rose gold. A clear house or room means to me a clear mind so, cleaning and decorating my room is for me an energizer to be all boosted up into the new season!

First, I want you Loves to meet my desk. I have a typical white Ikea desk with one drawer and under it a cabinet. I put the drawer the usual desk things like washi tape, post-its, stapler, hole puncher etc. In the cabinet I put study books, syllabuses and other study works. On top of my desk I put my favourite décor piece: my grid. As you can see Loves, I’m hanging on it cards and reminders. I also keep a magazine, notebooks and a portfolio of my fashion sketches. Next, I have my desk lamp, a rose gold geometric décor item from Primark and a Starbucks cup where I put empty batteries in to recycle. To store my memory cards and big clips, I put it in a green glass box. This way I stored it and have it within reach. For my daily task I place the papers in a to-do tray and when I’m done with it, I put in the done tray. In the last tray I put my printouts in it to remind myself of my to-do’s and goals. I also have a desk planner where I write my weekly to-dos, appointments and errands to run. What I don’t like from my desk is my pencils and pen holders, I basically just put them in square vases. I want to change this, but I have no idea how! Share with me your ideas Loves.

My favourite corner of my room is definitely where my bookcases stand. I store not only books and magazines but also my makeup and other beauty products like perfumes and oils for my hair. For I quick touch up I placed a rose gold mirror to look at before I go. I also have my jewellery displayed, not the ones I wear daily but the ones for occasions. To cosy my room a bit up I placed candles on it. Everything I don’t want to see I stored in small boxes or bags.

Blogging is something I love the do, even though I lack time management. To keep the joy of it, I printed my name which is also my blog link and slogan on aluminium at Fotofabriek.nl. I am so in love with it, it turned out so well! It feels like I have immortalized my blog on a picture. It came at the right time because I wanted to start with a small redo of my room. Wall decoration is something that’s so easy to do and also gives a big change in a room. They have many options for wall decoration, like printing pictures on dibond or canvas. You also can choose from different sizes, mine has the size 30×20 horizontal. I have something in my room that represent my blog and me, my room feels complete now!

Shopping | My Favourite Webshops.

Who gets also euphoric when you shop online? Don’t get me started about the feeling when you buy the item you really want on sale or with a good discount, hello happiness! Since my saving money post, which I still do, am I looking online for web shops who sell good quality items for a good price, especially when I want to buy high end items. When you subscribe to their newsletters you mostly get a discount code right away or when they notice you didn’t shop at the web shop for a while they’ll send you reminders and occasionally a discount code that you can use if the virtual shopping cart includes items more than a specific price. Yes, I am that type of a web shopper who patiently waits for that e-mail or mail. It’s like a present from me to me!

I wouldn’t be me if I don’t share my favourite web shops with you Loves, I wish you that euphoric feeling!

Vente-Exclusive my go-to web shop at the moment. Wait, it’s more than my go-to web shop, I am obsessed with it! I find myself looking at their site occasionally and since I downloaded their app even more. This web shop is clear, easy and has a 70% discount on well-known brands, what more do I need?! It is even possible to set reminders on your reminders app on your phone. Just click on the clock at the brands you want to shop from and you’ll get a reminder when the sale starts. What I also like from Vente-Exclusive is it sells everything, from fashion items to beauty and lifestyle. You will find your dream item!

Next on my list is Zalando. This web shop is such a blessing, the items they sell are from a good quality and I never regretted buying from it. I like it that you can adjust the price from low to high, this way you can search for items with your budget. When you subscribe to their newsletter they keep you updated on sales and more. They also send you a discount code when they miss you, isn’t that sweet!

Move over Ali Express, there is a new low budget shop in web shop town, meet Wish! I prefer Wish over Ali because Wish is much easier to work with. The web shop doesn’t have a great lay-out, but the items are quite good for a low budget shop. I did not receive crap quality items yet, I hope it keeps that way! These kinds of shops are perfect to me when I want to buy items that I know I don’t going to use a lot or spend too much money on it while I can get it cheaper for the same quality. What I don’t like is that you have to wait for two/four weeks before you get that ‘’gift from me to me’’ moment when you find them on your doormat.

Last but not least is web shop Douglas. I buy in this web shop namely high-end beauty products. As a member you always get 25% off on selected brands and you save five points with every one euro you spend. When you saved thousand points you’ll get five euro discount on your next purchase! You also can choose free samples of your choice to add into your shopping chart. When it is a gift for someone they wrap it for you for free, you just have to checkmark it on the check out. If the items you bought online is broken due to sending, you can bring it back to their psychical store. Waiting is no longer necessary!

Lifestyle |My Simple Ways To Relieve Yourself From Stress.

I have been the last few months so busy and stressed out that I forgot how to enjoy life, to enjoy the simple things. I felt time is rushing me by and every day I woke up tired than the day before. I had to get a grip and remind myself to stop before I get a burn out! On top of that I’m not feeling comfortable with my own body, mind and skin. I stopped working out and junk food took over my diet. Knowing this, I need to take back control and to do that I have to lower my stress thermometer.

There is no better way to lower it by pampering myself. First, I start with lighting up tea lights and candles to create a relaxing atmosphere. After that I’m making myself lay comfortably to put a facial sheet mask on. The 30 minutes applying time comes truly handy to lay on my bed with my feet crossed and my fingers woven together. To not to be easily distracted I concentrate on my breathing, breath in breath out. As a result, the tension of my body disappears, and I can go through my day more relaxer. After the mask I take a hot shower to relax my muscles. When I’m done and put cloths on, I smear myself in with a delicious body oil or lotion and I immediately feel more confident and comfy. When my time is limited and need a mini break, I paint my nails. I can do this every time and anywhere! When I’m sitting by my desk, on my bed or even in the train going to college.

If I don’t have a lot of time due to work or my studies, I plan trips to the kitchen or coffee break room to make myself a hot cup of tea. While I wait for the water to get boiled, I take the time to look out a window and enjoy the view. I mostly drink green tea with no sugar or forest fruit also without sugar for an energy boost. While I’m at it, I browse through a magazine to get inspiration. If I’m not in the mood to do that I just sit there with my eyes closed for a couple of minutes. When my break is over I feel rested to go back to my work or studies!

What also helps for me is to read a book. Reading is the perfect way to wander with my thoughts into one of the book characters. Especially when it is a good book! I can easily forget time when the story is beautiful, it makes me almost write my own book. Speaking about writing, writing my thoughts about what I’m going through on paper is also a good way to relieve me from stress. A dairy is just like a best friend who listens and does not judge. Perfect!

What are your ways to relieve yourself from stress?

New In | I Got Mail!

Who knows that joyful moment when the mailman brings you packages that you ordered online? Who am I kidding, everyone knows that feeling! Well Loves, imagine my joy when I received these goodies from ToSave because I collaborated with them. Move over Wish and Ali Express, there is a new store in town! I sporadic order at that kind of online stores because mostly the quality is below my expectations but, I’m sincerely surprised with these goodies I got from ToSave.

I chose a mini back pack that you can wear on your back and as an crossbody bag. They have many colours, but green caught my eyes and it matched perfectly with the golden details. What I like about the bag is, even it has a small size it has four compartments. One at the front that closes with a golden detailed magnet, one at the back that closes with a zipper and when you open it you’ll find a small compartment for your cards or keys. The material of the bag is made with PU leather, I am amazed about the quality! On the top of the bag there is a handle which is finished with gold buttons and stitched thread, this also applies to the entire bag. I already know which bag I’m going to take when I go out or run small errands!

Makeup brushes are to me like bags and shoes, you’ll never have enough! I fell in love with the galaxy colours. This brush set contains seven brushes that you can use for your foundation, blush, for blending, your eyes and lips. The first thing that I do when I buy makeup brushes is pulling the hairs of the brush gently to see if hairs fall out, it didn’t happen with these brushes. They are even so soft! The size of the brushes is pocket size, which is great. I can carry them around in my makeup pouch easily.

The last goodies I chose is a 925-sterling silver jewellery set. I am so happy with it! It has a chic look that I truly like about jewellery. I chose this one because I can wear it as a set during a special occasion or individually at a typical college day. The bracelet can you adjust easily just by pressing it together. One earring has slightly a different bend than the other one, it doesn’t bother me much. You can bend it however you like. When I wore the necklace around my neck, it reminded me of a teardrop. The ring looks like two teardrops coming together, simple yet chic!

Tell me Loves, what do you think about these goodies?

Lifestyle | My Social Media Habits.

I am without a doubt addicted to my phone. Even as a blogger, am I addicted more than ever. I mostly use my phone for blog related work than for personal use. Whenever you find me on my phone, nine out of ten times I check behind the scenes of my blog. That will be looking at my statistics, comments, answering them, like pictures, read other blogs, follow them and comment on their post. And this is only the usual small tasks that I do. When I’m done with the small tasks, I look online to get inspired for upcoming blogposts. I get this inspired itch mostly from other blogs that share them or online fashion and beauty magazines. I write my thoughts about it on the notes app that iPhone has.

The main habit that I have when it comes to my social media, is that I use punctuation marks with every sentence I write. I’m not a grammar freak, but it looks better. The second habit I have is that if I made a typo, I remove the whole post. This happens more on my Twitter. Yes, I know my lovely followers still understand what I’m saying, my perfectionism speaks louder at that moment.  I also have a neat tic when it comes to using emojis. Blog related post are marked with the black mark emoji and a row of black emoji squares comes in front of my hashtags. On the end of the hashtags I placed the black heart emoji. This is my go to manner on my Instagram. My other go to for my feed, is that the pictures I post mostly have a white background if not, like an outfit post, I give my pictures a white glow just to have an ordered feed. In the beginning of my blogging career I just placed pictures randomly. Since I use my Instagram as a portfolio am I more concerned about the layout. I don’t want it to look too perfect, we already have too many of those feeds. So, I wanted to have a messy-white background-matched feed and I like it!

On my Facebook page, I share automatically new blogposts and some statements and that’s about it. I think this is because I don’t really have the hang of it yet. I just don’t use it as much as Instagram. Same goes for my Bloglovin’ account. I probably should interact on them more. Snapchat (SaidaSnaps) and Twitter are my most used social apps when it comes to sharing personal things. First, the Snapchat filters are so fun to use! Second, Twitter is the perfect place to share my thoughts about college, working out and another chit chat. I also like to retweet other fashion, beauty and lifestyle tweets.

Everybody has an own way on how to use social media, sometimes it scares me because of all the things you can see. The good, the bad and the ugly but, we cannot ‘’live’’ without it. I certainly am.

Feel free to follow Loves. Comment below your habits, would love to read them!

Lifestyle | With MAHI On A Holiday.

My summer holiday from college officially started, until September am I a free elf! This summer am I going to work on myself, my blog and my studies. These are my top priority on my to do list during my summer. However, summer wouldn’t be summer if you don’t put your to do list aside. My yearly visitation to my roots in Morocco is off the table, this little setback doesn’t hold me to enjoy this year my second roots country: the Netherlands. I’m going to be a tourist in my own country by taking small holidays to see what the Netherlands should offer me besides my backyard. How better to do this together with a MAHI?

I was instantly obsessed with it as soon I put it on my wish list. Since I got it, I mostly use it for college but it is also perfect useable as a hand luggage. Since minimal and simple belongs to my sense of style, I chose this The Classic Tote bag and I love it! Leather is well known for its long shelf life and that’s what I love about leather bags. For a personal touch, you can get it embroidered, I chose my first name and last name first initials in the colour black. To me it gives that bit extra.

At this moment, I’m planning for a little getaway, I think it’s going to be somewhere in Europe. It is not official yet, but I’m already thinking what I’m going to put in my MAHI. Naturally I’m taking my notebook with me to write down my thoughts and blog related work. I will also take with me a travel size fashion magazine just for a bit of beauty related inspiration for my blog. And most of all the travel size is perfect for a holiday so I don’t have to carry a normal size fashion magazine with me. I also take with me my favourite sunny at the moment, Ray Ban sunglasses in my floral glasses case. When I’m on a holiday I don’t think a lot about my makeup. My currently lovie Chanel lippie is more than enough. However, my hair is quite important to me. So, I’m taking my hairbrush with me and of course it is travel size. Perfume is a must take for me, deodorant is also perfect but I feel that the scent doesn’t stay longer like perfume. So, for a quick fresh up I take a perfume with me that has a woody citrus scent like GUESS Seductive.

The last two items that I wouldn’t miss to take is my phone and camera. My phone for accessibility and my digital camera because of the size, my other camera would only be in the way of shooting memories!

Since it is quite a big bag, I will take clean underwear with me and other toiletry. The rest of the space is reserved for goodies I couldn’t resist to buy under the guise of ‘’cultural references’’!

Note To Loves | MAC Lipstick Three-Versary Giveaway! ENDED.

I reached a new milestone: three years of blogging! Writing this sentence makes me feel so excited and most of all blessed. As a blogger, I felt many emotions during my blogging path. I struggled with writer’s block, months I couldn’t write! My fingers wanted to type but my mind was holding me back from what I love to do. Those months I felt insecure about my blog and asked myself many times: should I pull the plug? I struggled with lack of inspiration and motivation, how many outfits I should post? How many beauty looks? Does my readers like what I’m doing? So many questions holding me back from getting inspired to be motivated to write for my blog again.

However, when I do hit publish I get such a satisfying feeling. A feeling of perfectionism that is accomplished because there comes more to look than just hitting the publish button. English is not my native language. So, I must translate some words that I don’t know how to spell or I know the word in Dutch and Moroccan Arabic but not in English. I run through the spellcheck three times or even more! And on top of that I read my blogpost out loud to hear whether the sentence structure is good. So far, I did my very best and sometimes even when I hit publish I make small changes. When I do this, I sometimes blame myself by saying how couldn’t I have notice this spelling mistake? This cloud of perfectionism hangs on top of my head. Thank god after rain comes sunshine!

Shopping Guide | Wishing You Were Here.

I don’t know about you Loves, but I’m a ‘’list person.’’ From making plans for college to running small errands I write lists. Even when I go shopping you will find a list in my wallet with items that I need. If I stick to it? That is another story. I feel sometimes even lost when I don’t have a list with me. Thank god for technology! I can visit my blog on my phone now for a quick reminder. So, let me share with you my shopping guide about items I’m wishing about and maybe you will find your dream item too.

Jo Malone is well known for their beautiful candles. I sometimes forget they have a wide assortment of colognes, bath and body products.  The bottles and packages are already keepers, imagine the smell and when you use it. Such luxury!

Lip glosses you can’t get enough of them, I’m speaking for myself now. Just look at the tube! This lip gloss from Dior is such a classic, it is available in many colours but I have set my eyes on the girly pink. Talking about pink, how cute is this feather skirt from SuperTrash? Since we are in the middle of the wedding season: combining this cute skirt with a pastel coloured top and edgy heels and you are good to go! Staying with SuperTrash: not only their clothes are dreamy to wear but their accessories are pretty to look at too. I’m a sucker for notebooks and their black ones are so chic. Perfect for college

Pictures originally taken from their website.

Bags! My guilty pleasure. I found these beauties at MAHI and both are made from soft leather which means they are built to last. This is what I’m looking for in a college bag! I carry my laptop and books with other stuff that I basically don’t need everywhere I go. I love bags that are fashionable and functional. Who hasn’t had his bag strap broken just because of the heaviness? And do you remember those ugly bags that you are forced to use because otherwise you cannot bring all your books with you to study at home. Don’t forget carrying two bags! Kudos to MAHI. By the way Loves, you can personalize your bag with embroidery that they stitch onto the bag or accessories of your choice. Also, good to know: MAHI donates $1.50 from every purchased bag to clean water causes. Hello, win-win situation!

As you know me Loves: I like edgy details. I fell head over anchor about this black bracelet from Lavastoney. The combination of black and silver is so classic! I like timeless items, they stay fashionable for a long time. Because of this you think more about the quality when you buy it because you can enjoy longer from it! Also, a classic: Chanel. I’m having lately an obsession on this brand. Chanel is to me the black dress for fashion and the contour for beauty. The cap of the brush is going to protect the hairs of the brush which is perfect for when you need a quick touch up on the go!

Which item are you wishing about Loves?

Note To Loves | Why I Started Blogging.

Sometimes I need to remind myself why I started blogging. Especially at moments when I don’t have inspiration or the motivation to work on my blog, quite sad because I love to do it. Lack of time plays also a huge part on why I didn’t blog for a while. I am currently busy with my studies. I go to college from the morning until late afternoon for a week. Basically, a whole work week of almost 40 hours! Then comes doing homework, reading college books and doing assignments. In the weekend, I maintain a part time job and I need to rest from everything. Due to all this I left my blog behind.

I remember like it was yesterday why I wanted to start a blog. At first I wanted to follow vocational training about fashion but here in the Netherlands you need to ‘’audition’’ first before you get into a school of fashion or an art school. They always said to me that I have the basics and an eye for details but it isn’t enough. So, I had to do something else to follow my dreams which is working for a fashion magazine. It bugged me why I didn’t get in but I realised why wait for approval on something you love to do?

Blogging was the first thing that came into my mind when it comes to reaching my goals of writing, taking pictures or better said the whole package when it comes to fashion, beauty and lifestyle subjects. Just like a magazine where I can be the editor, the creative director and photographer. There was a very old friend who I shared my thoughts with, he said to me that I should do it. He pushed my last insecurities away and SaidaChahid.com was born.

Till this day, I appreciate that last push. With many ups and downs that I embrace am I blogging for three years now! Thinking about it makes me so excited and glowy inside. I truly hope I can continue doing it for a long time.

So, Loves bear with me because I promise you, there is more to come from me!

Lifestyle | Hi, Meet My Camera.

I promised myself in 2016 to give myself a good camera as a gift. My main reason is to improve my product pictures for my blog and ootd shoots but also a SLR camera looks bad ass around my neck! My saving tips came truly in handy when I set my mind on getting a camera. After a long search, I fell in love with the Canon EOS 1200D.

I don’t have major photograph skills, I don’t know all the buttons and meanings yet so every time when I use this beauty it is a surprise to me. I do know the basis but I still have the feeling I should get to know my camera more. I wanted to have a camera that has the specs that comes in great use for my blog and I found it in this Canon.

Let me start with the basic first Loves, since I know that. This beauty has 18 megapixel CMOS and a iSO value of 6400/12800. I love how it adjust automatically with light, darkness and on backgrounds. It has a 7,5 cm (3-inch) LCD display, I can see through the lens which is a 18-55 MM 1:3.5 5-5.6 IS STM lens and through the display. I love this! Perfect for whenever I have my glasses on. I see the world through different eyes whenever I use this camera. It records videos in 1080p such a pleasure for my eyes.

Quite a lot of numbers! Trust me, I had the same feeling. But whenever you have the hang of it you would love it.

Blogging costs time and I prefer to make things good right from the start to prevent do overs. This also goes for shooting flat lays, outfits, beauty looks and product photos. Since I have this camera only with one shot and I am satisfied with the results! The colour pixels turn so smooth that I only must use Photoshop to make my pictures look brighter and glowy like in a magazine.

Share with me your beauty Loves!

Lifestyle – Tips | How I Prepare For College.

img_5089

College; the place I spend most of my time and I must admit, it can be challenging. I don’t know about you Loves but I have a hate/love relationship with my studies especially when I’m not prepared or I have a workplace that is a mess and I mean this not only on my desk but also my home. So, my first tip: create a good working place. It can be your room, at the library or the study places at your college and university. Pick a place where you not get easily distracted. When you’re living home, like me. I let them know that I don’t want to be disturbed and that I’m only available in case of a fire. Its sounds pernickety but because of this you can focus on your studies.

img_5080

Having good stationary is half the work and this is the part I love to put afford in! I’m quite obsessed with cute pastel coloured pens and marble printed notebooks, well with everything that is marble printed. I vow for making things your own and personal so don’t feel embarrassed if you want matching stationary or even a themed one. Feel free! Let’s admit it; it feels good to have those frills.

img_5077

Whenever I have home work to do or some reading, I place it into my to-do organizer. These organizers come in very good use when you place it on your desk or close to your view to remind yourself that a task is waiting to be done and when you finished it, place it in your done organizer before you store it permanent or you want to take it with you to hand it in. I find this systematic organizing very helpful during my studies and personal tasks.

img_5086

I find binders also helpful during my studies. Using tabs to separate paper for different subjects, it is just a good way to use one binder for many subjects. I use this mostly to write summaries for my exams. To give myself small reminders and if I want to emphasize important words or tasks I use post its. I stuck them on the inside of my binder, now I have it always close to my sight.

img_5081

img_5083

To stay motivated and having an overview of all my homework, daily tasks and to-do’s I use printouts. I found online perfect ones! I got mine calendar from Scattered Squirrel and other printouts from The Organize Student. Definitely credits to the owners! I use them daily, they are easy to use and perfect for an organized freak like me.

Note To Loves | #2017 Goals!

img_4469

1/365, the first page of 2017 are you living right now. It sounds to me quite crazy! As I told you Loves in my goals of 2016 I am not someone who is focused on new year resolutions, I am more of a person who looks back at moments and events that has occurred to me. I analyse them to feel how it made me feel at that moment. If I like something and it is good to me I go on and if not, I let it go. Even when it is hard.

img_4472

I think this is what I learned in 2016, it was my personal goal so I stripe this from my list and guess what? It feels good! Before I start with writing you loves what I have in mind for 2017 let me highlight my blog goals from last year.

  • Write more on SaidaChahid.com -> I accomplished this in a halve way. I wish I could have a strict blog planning. I mostly got my pictures already ready and have written a blog title to indicate what I want to write but then something comes in between and I find myself doing something else. I feel quilt about this, it is nagging me! But I cannot beat the hands of time.
  • Collaborate -> 2016 was also a good year for collabs! It feels so good to say this. I am thankful for these opportunities. Head out to my Collaborations Page to read what I have done. I promise you would enjoy it as much as I did!
  • Go to events -> The ratio for me visiting events stayed the same. The last event I visited was at the Dutch Glamour Magazine Fashion-Vintage Live. I loved every bit of it!
  • Increase my social media followers -> Goal achieved! Yay! I reach more of my Loves every day and I appreciate all of you. On my Instagram I have 3k Loves, on Twitter almost 2k, on my Facebook Page I have 700 likes and on my blog a total of almost 4k. Thank you! I feel proud. Whoop!
  • Buy a new camera -> I did!

I am happy when it comes to my blog goals. To me I am on the right path and I hope to continue walking on it.

img_4473

Oh gosh, now comes my personal goals from last year, I am taking literally a small breath…

  • Focus more on my faith and believes -> I am learning day by day and I feel that I always can learn more, it is never enough. But I do see a progress in my lifestyle; I search for information, I pray 5 times a day, I love to discuss and talk with people around me and listen to their thoughts. I am educating myself in any way that is possible and it feels so good!
  • Read more -> I finished all the books I had piled up. But I feel that I am missing something, I haven’t read the right book. You know the feeling that when you start with a book you cannot lift your head from it? I didn’t find this feeling yet…
  • Enjoy the beauty in life -> I have learned to appreciate life, with the ups and downs. I have concluded that you cannot change a situation that is not changeable. No matter how hard you try, if it is written its written. Namely with the downs in life I realised you are better off by thinking and analysing about it until you accept it that it happened. As soon you reached that point you can heal yourself by working on it to be better or to let it go and move on with your life. There is so much more in the world you just need to open your eyes and most important of all, to be open minded.
  •  Give negativity no chance -> I have learned the beauty of life.

img_4476

  • Get healthy -> I still work on it! As I have written you before Love is have primary lactose intolerance. I cannot eat or drink products that contains milk/milk sugars. And I changed my diet! I consume soy products or products that are lactose free and I feel so much better than before! But I must confess: I am on a diet. That is also why you haven’t seen new ootd blog posts. I didn’t eat for almost a month no refined sugars and I lost 3kg! I am not there yet but I am happy I cut buttons.
  • Get my driver’s license -> I can drive, sometimes I do. But I don’t have the permit…There I said it! This is the only goal I am not so proud of only because I really want it. I cannot make it more than; I cannot beat the hands of time.

Save money/don’t spend it on rubbish -> I can be proud again, I have been saving money and I am going to continue with it all my life. Yes, all my life! As you can see I have the hang of it. I did a blogpost about how to save money and I am doing it since.

These were my goals from last year and I must say that I feel blessed every day that I am learning to be better for myself and the ones around me. You can never stop learning and I think because of this realisation that I have, I don’t feel to have other goals in 2017 than to continue learning and growing. I know that in 2017 I am going to have ups and downs but I truly don’t want it to get the most of me. I will cherish the good and accept the bad because at the end you have one life to live, every moment is precious.

Lifestyle | My Phone Case.

img_4925

Do you know the feeling when you get something new you want to personalize it? I had this feeling when I got my iPhone. Do you remember when I told you Loves now I need a cute phone case? I finally got one!

I am lately into marble prints and the colour pink. When I found out you can create phone cases on Case Company I fell yet again in love with the prints! The variations they have on their printed cases are very trending; from Kim Kardashians famous cry face to Drakes hotline bling quotes to cactuses.

img_4920

If that is not enough, you can customize a case with your own pictures on any case you want. They have many case models like flip case, wooden, hard, soft with matt finish and fine finish.  They also have a Magic Magnet, a strong magnet for one of your air vents of your car. It is very easy to use; you just place between your phone and the case a small metal plate and hold it on the Magic Magnet and you are ready to cruise to many places! Not to speak about their laptop sleeves and ipad cases.

img_4922

For that extra personal touch, I choose to use my blog name, which is my name. It didn’t fell complete so I added Fashion-Beauty & Lifestyle Blogger for the whole package. I choose the font Sacramento but you can choose from many other fonts that are well-known and popular. This is not all; you can use any colour that you want and you are free to bold it or make it italic. You can even centre it! While you are busy making your own art work, you can rotate and resize text and emoji’s. This is impossible to forget!

Because of the ability to create a case of your own style, every time when you use your phone it feels like it is just brand new!

I am very curious, how you would personalize your case?

img_4700

Style Tone box from month November popped out of my mail box and it is also my last box to review for you Loves. The theme of this month is Power Woman, instead of wearing fluffy pj’s and fuzzy socks to hide in your cocoon of comfort this season are these products for pampering to pop out of it! As my last box was a bit of ‘’mwah’’ am I pleased to see that this box turned out lovely.

img_4701

Let me start first with the Lord & Berry ultimate lipliner in the colour Nude. The formula of the pencil is enriched with macadamia oil and waterlily extracts. It is waterproof and blends so well! I have an Essence lipstick (Cute Nude) that suits perfect with it. Or I can use it with the Tini Beauty lipstick in the colour Pink Champagne. When I opened it to try it on I’ve noticed golden glitter sparkles on it! It is so subtle that you cannot see it but when you apply it; hello beautiful lips! I totally see what Style Tone did there; perfect match!

img_4702

They were very thoughtful about this Power Woman box. The Cailyn Cosmetics Mummy Whipping Bubble Cleansing Mask is a perfect 3 minutes’ mask for an energy boost! I must say that the package looks a bit scary, it does make you curious what is it all about. This sheet mask uses an advanced technology of oxygenated cleansing bubbles imbued within unique mold-inducing microfiber to create a soothing and softening formula that deeply cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates the skin. This is such a mouth full! My curiosity is sparked.

img_4703

In this season our hands need pampering more than ever, this Coconut Hand Cream from Ziaja comes then in handy. Get it? Handy! Hihi…The smell of coconut is not overwhelming, the familiar coconut smell around you will not occur. Perfect for a tropical feel when it’s cold outside! While we are at it; the nail polish from Meeki Beauty Lab will look like a fresh manicure with this hand cream! In the box, I found the colour Sophie. I don’t wear black coloured nail polishes but I’m going to give this one a try!

img_4704

As I told you Loves, this is my last Style Tone Box. I had a three-month subscription which I choose to meet new beauty brands. It is also nice to see that the cosmetic brands develop items that are animal cruelty free and vegan.

Which item caught your eye Loves?

Lifestyle | Everyday Lovely Items.

img_4653

I can be very enthusiastic when it comes to items that has an eye-catching rate. As you all know me I have an eye for details and I like to follow some trends that suits my own style. I have a weakness for things that suits my bedroom interior, it feels to me then I’m more home. That bit of extra that gives you joy.

img_4655

As a blogger, I use my laptop a lot and for a long time I’ve been searching for a marble 15,6-inch laptop case for my HP Pavilion and I still cannot find one for my liking. Talking about ‘’laptop discrimination’’, you only have them for MacBook’s! When I wanted to give up my search for it, I found Style Repertoire who sell them as skins/stickers. I wanted to give it a try and when it came through my mail I was excited and very curious at the same time. It was bit of work but I placed the sticker on my laptop and I liked it! Although it is just temporary because I want a real case, it gave my laptop a fresh look.

img_4656

Since we are talking about the marble trend, I saw this tray and I wanted it to use it as a background for pictures. Since I’m having it I don’t lose it out of my sight! I use it to put my daily makeup on and my brushes. I truly like the sophisticated look that marble has. Same goes with my minty five minutes’ hour glass. I use it to remind myself to have a break when I’m working a lot behind my laptop or the opposite, that my break is over and I should continue my work. This goodie is so ideal for while you are working or when you are studying for your exams.

Candles, every woman’s interior must buy habit. The pineapple candle gives my room interior an edgy touch and in order not to let it predominate I placed a minimalistic scented candle with it for a whole look.

I don’t know about you Loves but I use magazines as a great source to get fashion inspiration. Sometimes they have special editions and those are mostly worth keeping. This magazine from SuperTrash dates from 2013. Designer Olcay Gulsen got inspired by Jackie O for this magazine and I from her. I love this vicious circle! Since now we are in an inspiration mood: don’t forget that music also belongs on the ‘’how to get inspired list’’ and why not share it by using a cute speaker?!

img_4660

img_4663

My grid! See, I am already loving it just by thinking about it. I always wanted one on my desk to give my workplace an industrial minimal look. There are so many options on how you want to decorate your grid and I chose for cute cards and to remind myself for things to do.

How would you use it Loves?

img_4579

I’m just like a kid in a candy store when it comes to receiving packages by mail. It doesn’t matter if it’s a gift or I bought it myself. I could kiss the mailman at that moment! Especially when you are waiting for that dream item you paid a lot for it or got it with a major discount. Don’t let me speak about when it is a gift! It’s like Christmas in July, August and October!

I told you Loves that I have a three-month subscription at Style Tone. I received my second box and I must be honest with you; I was ‘’mwah’’ about it. The only product I’m excited about is the Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel. I want to cut down with plucking my eyebrows, I want them to be bushy a la Cara Delevingne. I don’t pluck much because I already like them the way they are but I do want to keep them in check and this brow gel comes in handy!

img_4586

There is one product I give the benefit of the doubt; Hikari Blush called Cameo. I swatch it on my hand and the pigment is good but I’m not so sure about the colour. It’s quite light pink and I don’t know if the shade will make my skin look paler then it already is. This is definitely something to find out in a beauty look. The box also contained a Lip Crayon from Starlooks. I had it in the shade Majesty and oh lord it’s so dark purple! Yet again I don’t know if it suits my skin tone. I also got a wooden pencil called Jelly Pong Pong. This pencil can be used on your lips as a highlighter; on your eyes and nose. On your brow bone for an open look, same goes for your waterline. The pigments of this pencil and lip crayon are good though! The last item from the box is a Brush Cleaner. What can I say about this one…It’s a handy tool that helps to clean your makeup brushes, it works good because I already had one. That’s a bummer!

img_4590

img_4592

img_4580

As I’m getting older I have noticed that my skin is changing. In times of stress I get more acne break outs and my skin tone gets more grizzled. I was at my pharmacy and saw this try out package from Vichy Laboratories. These products are based on mineralizing water. The pouch contains an Ideal Body Serum Milk; it says it intensely nourishes the skin smoother and firmer. This sounds appealing so why not try it out?! It also has a Mineralising Water Spray; it efficacy to fortify the skin. Sounds fancy! The third item I’m writing about is the 3in1 Cleanser. Not only it rids of impurities, pollutants it also radiates your skin. In times of stress this comes in handy. Last but not least and probably the product I’m excited about the most; the Aqualia Thermal Light Cream. As I said before these products are based out of water. When you have acne its proven to use crèmes that contains water. I hope that this one is going to be my hero with my break outs!

Lifestyle | Hi, Meet My Blog 2.0

img_4605

When I first started with blogging I had no plan and no idea what I put myself into. I threw myself into the deep and I was quite insecure about my writing skills. However, I was very determined to start a blog about fashion, beauty and lifestyle.

img_4612

When I made the decision to do it nobody helped me or reached a hand to help me how to start. When I looked for tips online some forums helped me but when I wanted to reach other bloggers I always felt a competition vibe, it was a bit unwelcoming. It made me realise I never want to make someone feel like that because I’m all about self-empowering yourself and others so I was very pleased to see that my first Hi, Meet My Blog turned out to be a success!

It is a pleasure to see, read and follow other blogs. I see the likes and comments as a reward of my hard work. Most of all I appreciate that my Loves take the time to read my blogposts and motivate me to go on with my blog. Because of this I’m reaching my blogging goals step by step and every step on the way I feel more and more confident about my writing skills. So way not share this feeling with others? I had the same feeling when I wrote about a blogpost on how I make products pictures for my blog and so was Picture Perfect born!

img_4615

I believe when you give a positive vibe to others the rest comes by itself. Companies and brands wanted to work with me and once in a while I get invited or go to events that perfectly matches with what I do for my blog. It is such a great opportunity and feeling to be able to do this!

Sharing is truly caring Loves. When you start with it believe me when I say, you can’t get enough of it! Share your blog with a sentence or two about your blog and why you started.

Let’s make this round a success too!

Lifestyle – Decor Tips | Autumn Room Decor.

img_4458

As I told you in my previous blogpost, I am not a lover of this new season however, I do love to make the most of it. Every new season I am trying to change my room decor just to spice up my room. It also gives me a fresh boost for my daily things that I do just like a small fresh start. The beauty (read: easy wheezy work) of changing your room decor is that you only have to do small adjustments that makes big changes. Are you like me into simplicity and keeping it not all the way a Halloween theme in your room, keep on reading Loves!

img_4484

Another alternative for the colour pumpkin orange can be bronze or rose gold, since I have the iPhone 6s in rose gold I’m quite obsessed about the colour! It suits very well in my room decor which is mostly the colours mint, white and silver. However, rose gold comes in different shades so it was a bit hard to find the shade that matched with all the rose gold items I have.

When I saw the mirror on the store shelf, I had to have it! In my mind I wanted a mirror on my bookcase right next to my room door. I use this mirror for the last touch up before I start with my daily routines. When I put it there it gave my room an instantly a warm look. Same goes with the rose gold make-up brushes. Even with the craziest thing you can you create a style that suits you and the fun part is I use the brushes just for decor! At least until I want to change it again.

I don’t know about you Loves, when I think about autumn I think about animals. Maybe it’s because autumn gives me that cottage in the mountain feeling. I wanted a jewellery stand that literally stands out. I saw this candlestick antler and a creative itch came. I put it upside down on a wooden plate; which is a candle cover, for a strong hold. When I decorate it with my mostly worn jewellery I appreciated this diy even more!

img_4474

Autumn equals sweater weather, hot coco and candles! I just love the feeling of lighting up candles, that romantic vibe! Candles are to me not seasonally bound so I light them up once in a while for a relaxing moment and they are perfect for decor! We all know the Starbucks pumpkin spiced latte vibe that many have, I can’t drink it because I’m lactose intolerant but other than that I like Starbucks drinks so I kept the cup for decor purposes and I like it!

img_4490

img_4492

Even small adjustments like fake flowers can really spice up your room. I saw these flowers because I like roses and peonies a lot and buying them in warm colours was just a matter of time, time to change my room decor!

I was always curious about beauty boxes and looked online for information about them, at first I was sceptical because I want to have value of my money. I rather pay a bit much for full sized products then travel sizes so I ended my research when I found Style Tone. The reviews about this beauty box were laudatory so I wanted to try it too. I chose a three-month subscription for €35.00 and I don’t regret it!

I received my first box this month (September). I felt like beauty addict who needed a beauty shot!

img_4364

img_4365

I received a blush pen from Ellis Faas. That’s quite unique! A blush pallet that looks like a pen. In the mini magazine that comes with the box says about the blush pen that it gives your make-up look a dewy finish and a long lasting glow. Sounds good! The second product I took from the box is a Pore Qualifying Mineral Detox Mask from Figs & Rouge. The mask eliminates impurities and draws out excess oils for a clearer healthy complexion. As you all know me Loves I have an oily skin so I am very curious about this beauty goodie.

img_4369

Ladies you cannot have enough nail polishes, Style Tone must think that too because I received a feminine red colour from Emité in the box and I like it! What I also snooped out the box is a mono eyeshadow from Note. I got in a dark purple shade which made me shudder because I’m not used to dark colours as eyeshadow, then again for everything is a first. The next thing I received is a Eyerule No 3 Volumizing Curling Mascara from Ace Of Face. I was instantly impressed by the eye brush because it has a small top and I prefer that more over others because of my small eyes.

I can even enjoy it more because all products from the Style Tone box are cruelty free. Whoop!

img_4372

On television I saw a commercial about Girls Bag. It is a bag full of full sized products that every girl needs. Even though the target group are mostly teenage girls it didn’t hold me to try one out too! It came in a box but the reasoning behind it is the tote pineapple bag full of goodies. This bag contains not only beauty products but also healthy snacks. Nice!

img_4374

img_4376

The goodies you’ll get with the bag are; Rimmel London Volume Colourist Mascara, Herōme Trio W.I.C. Nail Polish set. Oelala! Maybelline Balm & Blush, SmoovAll Skin Contact Spray, Vogue Perfume Deodorant Butterfly and BioFreeze+ Gel. I am very impressed about the amount of beauty products! New In | Silver Mirrored Sunnies.

IMG_4307

Summer means an excuse to get new sunnies because the ones you already have are “soooo last summer” and at the end you have a lot in stock that you can open a store for yourself. Glasses are just like shoes; you can’t get enough. Accessories definitely make an outfit complete. When it comes to different kinds of glasses, GlassesShop is a truly Walhalla of glasses frames, from all time classics to funky and retro, just perfect! As a fashion and accessories encourager I felt in my element while wandering and scrolling through their online store, like a virtual wanderlust!

IMG_4308

I chose the frame Evansville Wayfarer in the colour blue and silver. I like that the colours are parted two ways, blue on top of silver/gray-ish. It gives that edgy look and I like that twist. What I also like is the lightless of the frame, it makes it optimal to use. The affordable eyeglasses are not only from high quality they also give the perfect statement to every wearer. So Loves, who wear prescription sunglasses or glasses will look great with these eye catchers!

IMG_4309

Do you know the latest silver mirror trend? GlassesShop goes with the hype and I’m following! I want to try it on my nails and now I can put the mirrored beauty right on my nose. Not only is it fashionable, it comes in handy when you want to look shameless at your love or summer crush. Sssst….let’s keep this between us.

IMG_4310

Because I’m so happy with my new sunnies I want to make you Loves happy too! Use code GSHOT50 for a 50% discount on eyeglasses and sunglasses with free lenses! Whoop! I have to say that sale frames are excluded but that doesn’t matter with the frame Walhalla GlassesShop has.

Enjoy your gift Loves!

Note To Loves. | Escaping Routines} Moroccan Love.

IMG_5646

I am in Morocco! I’m saying this with such a relieve, from the moment I put my feet on Moroccan soil and the heat greeted me the fatigue of my daily routines in the Netherlands burned with the heat. I feel blessed to visit my country again and I’m glad to give you Loves an inside snoop!

Of course I travelled in pink….and black. I wanted to travel light weighted so a suitcase and a valise is more than enough besides I wish I could take my whole wardrobe with me.

IMG_5659

I flew with Air Arabia and to be honest it is a good airline and the stewards did their job well but, ordering food and drinks took so long that we almost landed and when I ordered the cold drinks were warm and some warm drink like cappuccino they didn’t have it. Slightly disappointing. I’m not the hardest person but these small things are a welcome card for an airline and if it isn’t complete you just going to feel like mwah.

Confession: I don’t like to fly. As the plane rises I say a little prayer same goes when the plane is going to land. If we have turbulence my belt is closed tightly and I’m not even moving out of my chair. So the three hours I stayed in the sky I squeezed my eyes 267 times, said a prayer 154 times and hold on tight on my belt like it is going to save me when we going to crash! Hahaha…What a mess! Through land, seas and the sky traveling to any country that you have your mind on is a great experience to have.

IMG_5667

I’m wishing you all Loves if you are also on a holiday in a country that you love to enjoy! My journey in Morocco is just getting started follow me on my social media for more inside scoops!

Lifestyle | Spirit It Up!

IMG_0959

Do you know those days when you are so busy with your daily routines that you lack time to do the things that you love? You cannot even enjoy the little things like eating your favourite sandwich just because you are in a hurry. I had those moments the last two months and it is breaking me apart. I truly hate that I cannot do the thing that I love the most namely my blog. The more days that went by that I didn’t blog made me more and more petulantly.

IMG_4042

I also must be honest with you loves, I need to get my priorities straight! I am so guilty of postponing things and it is not because out of laziness but more of not having the motivation to do it. So I am trying to take a step back and pause my daily routines. While I did it I remembered why I love to blog even more, is just read my blogpost about inspiration for motivation and it helped me back on track. In this blog post I will go more in depth, I want to empower all the ladies who are familiar with these feelings so let’s start with a cliché. Yes, clichés are clichés for a reason. They are mostly true.

‘’Every woman deserves to be noticed.’’ The words of this quote are so simple but yet so hard to believe in. We all have our own insecurities and it can ‘’control’’ us sometimes. Let’s break this pattern and put ourselves on a pedestal!

IMG_1783

IMG_4046

For instance, Loves when I see these pictures the first thing that comes into my mind is: I can lose some pounds and my mood decreases instantly. To shut that annoying voice in my head I look at the pictures better and see all the beautiful things that are so obvious to see! The ground I am standing on, all that nature and the most important: my health. Without it I cannot do what I love to do. I don’t know about you Loves but sometime I forget this realisation.

While writing this I noticed that more than this I cannot tell, it is truly the simple things that counts!

Lifestyle | Pillow Talk.

IMG_4231

Let’s keep those thoughts for your booboo honey, ha! But I’m glad I have caught your attention because what I’m about to write is important too. The love of our lives: SLEEP! That enjoyable moment when you rest your head on a pillow is familiar to all of us.

What also familiar is to all of us are sleepless nights and waking up tired the next morning because of it. So annoying! When I have those sleepless nights the most thing that truly gets to me is being cranky during my day because of lack of sleep, there goes a spoiled day. I’m a person that values a goodnight sleep because I truly feel that sleep is the only way to charge ‘’your battery’’ that gets sucked empty because of daily routines, stress and other influences.

IMG_4233

Because you all are my Loves and I want the best for you, am I going to share with you what I do to prevent sleepless nights and what I do when I have one.

First, your bed. When you walk into your bedroom the first thing that you see is your bed. When it is a mess, read: to many pillows, clothes and other things that shouldn’t be there, is the first thing that you feel is that annoying pinch of ‘’even throwing it on the floor cost me to much energy!’’ Prevent it by already having your bed hop-in free. Clearing your bed is literally clearing your mind. If you prefer to still have pillows on your bed, do not exaggerate. No need to make a fort out of them!

When you are laying in your hop-in free bed and still have a hard time to fall asleep don’t toss and turn about it, accept it. Make that time useful by analysing what is keeping your up. Write it down in a journal or just a notebook. Write your worry scenarios and the solutions of it and you already going to feel better, trust me! You probably even think that you are worried for no reason at all or it can wait until the next day to fix it. Sometimes I sprinkle a bit of Rosewater on my pillow because I like the smell, the rose extract literally ‘’distract’’ me of worrying.

IMG_4234

Many professionals say: don’t use your phone before going to sleep, it makes your sleep rhythm confused and decreases your melatonin and I agree with them. I also know, easier said than done. So I was glad that Apple has a night shift button, I use it every night! I do have noticed that it helps me and I know it isn’t a miracle worker but every little bit helps. That’s why I also recommend to use your phone not too often during your sleepy time. If you like to listen music at night, make a playlist with songs that has a long playing time so you don’t have to look at your phone a lot. You even can make playlists that depends on your mood, for instance make a list that has songs of soothing classical music to fall asleep quickly or with sounds from mother earth like the sea and seagulls or how about the rain to clear your mind. Last but not least but definitely cliché: turn your phone into airplane mode to block influences from outside. No more checking emails! No more replying on tweets! And no more haters to listen too.

These tips make me sleep like a boss, now you do too!

Sweet dreams Loves.

FOOD | Mama’s Soup.

IMG_4207

IMG_4206

The temperatures are rising which means not getting in the mood to cook long-lasting meals. We all need our breaks, right Loves? At those moments my mother makes the best soup that I and my other family members enjoy to eat. Not only it is easy to make, with just one cup and your belly is full. Yum!

The ingredients you need are easy to get and maybe even already in your fridge. Everybody knows those veggies that you don’t know what to do with. You can use them but my mum mostly uses soup vegetables like carrots, leek, celery, cauliflower and potatoes.

IMG_4212

IMG_4209

First you need to boil water in a stockpot. How much water depends on how many people you want to feed. Boil the water on medium heat and then apply the veggies in the stockpot. I don’t like my soup with big chunks of vegetables so my mother chops it in a blender, not too much because I still like to have a small bite. When you are done with the veggies you let it cook for ten to twenty minutes. Because it is finely chopped, it doesn’t take long for the veggies to cook. While you are at it apply the last ingredients salt, pepper and a broth block to add flavour.

Are you an ‘’soup dipper’’ like me? Serve it with sesame wholemeal bread or breadsticks.

Bonne appetite Loves!

Lifestyle – Saving Tips | Piggy Bank.

IMG_4039

IMG_4037

‘’Money doesn’t make you happy’ But it makes life easier, right? Since my goal for 2016 is to save money and don’t spend it on rubbish, I even have a no-buy list. Am I sharing with you Loves how I save money.  I confess, I’m a spender. Not a big one! I can say I don’t shop until my wallet drops. I want to avoid it at all costs and to do that I buy things that my wallet allows me to do. Yes, it’s that simple!

To have the possibility to fall back on something, is it therefore useful to have a piggybank. In order to be flexible, I save my money in three sections. It sounds crazy but trust me, it is easy.

IMG_4040

In section one I save € 50, – and more in my bank. No questions asked.  In section two I save less then € 50, – in a closed piggybank but still reachable for important and unexpected circumstances. What is less then € 50, -? Well, that would be € 0,50 until € 20, -. In the last section I save less then € 0,50. Which is € 0,05 cents until € 0.20 cents. Those annoying small change will add up if you save it and at the end of a year or even a month change it for big money at a bank. ‘’Small money for big dreams.’’ Literally!

IMG_4041

I believe if you save your money in this kind of way, before you know it you have saved a large amount. A year has 365 days, 52 weeks and 12 months. If you couldn’t save something for section one, you can save something for section two and even if that wasn’t possible you always can save something for section three. Even though you saved a small amount you can say to yourself that you saved something and that gives you a good feeling. Because of this flexibility you always can save something in the whole year!

FOOD | Lactose Free Veggie Wraps.

IMG_3901

IMG_3902

One of my goals for 2016 is to adjust my diet in Lactose Free. We are just one day from April and I must say that turning your diet upside down takes a lot of time. I have noticed that I have to take this step by step otherwise I turn into my old habits way to fast. Whenever I’m doing groceries I’m trying all the lactose free products that I can find, (which is not a lot) out and since I started I tried a lot that tastes awful! Thinking about it now makes me even cringe. So I’m going to try until I found the ones that taste good.

IMG_3903

IMG_3904

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw and tasted this cream cheese from Philadelphia. It has the same creamy taste that I used to taste in non-lactose free cream cheese. I’m definitely a ‘’creamy person.’’ I like creamy food like Greek or Turkish yogurts and feta cheese. So I’m glad I bumped into this one at my grocery store!

Since I’m taking it one step at the time let me share with you Loves this Lactose Free foodie. All you need is tortilla wraps, black seedless olives, cucumber and Lactose Free Cream Cheese. So easy! Heat the wraps in a frying pan for a couple of minutes, I like mine a bit crunchy but not too much like a taco.  Lubricate the cream cheese on the wrap and fill it in with cucumber and black olives and you’re done!

IMG_3905

This foodie is perfect for a healthy snack during your day.  It gives you that energy boost that you need from your hard work or from your studies. Because it is so easy to make you wouldn’t have to grab an unhealthy snack instead. Besides those two minutes of frying the tortilla wrap is a nice way to get up from your chair to stretch your legs. Two birds in one blow, right Loves?

Are you also allergic from a type of food? And would you like to see more Lactose Free Foodies?

IMG_3537

I had the change to go to Glamour Magazine Fashion-Vintage Live event. The Dutch Glamour has a cross-media expansion that’s called Fashion-Vintage and Glamour Concept Store. On both sites you have the possibility to buy and sell your clothes and even at the Concept Store you can pitch your brand to get featured! Amazing right?

IMG_3538

IMG_3540

IMG_3539

As a subscriber to their magazine I had the opportunity to go snoop in many goodies from Glamour readers, many bloggers, Glamour workers and famous Dutch people. As I was wandering through the stands I saw nice goodies but also many goodies that sellers are selling them for prices that I wouldn’t buy it for. To be honest.

I did like snooping trough the goodies from well-known Dutch stylist By Danie. I was curious what she wears, especially in her free time. Too bad many things of her did not fit me, our shoe sizes don’t match. The faux fur letters on the pink sweater from Glamour Concept Store caught my eye. So fluffy!

IMG_3536

As I was looking my eyes out during the Fashion Walhalla I got a bit thirsty so I was pleased to find a smoothie bar. The juices were made just the right way, not to sour. While I was sipping on my juice I saw these beautiful kimonos. I like to prints on it, what a Summer vibe! Glamour was even so thoughtful for their visitors. You could feel like a princess because there were make-up artists happy to make a perfect look for you.

Everything comes to an end. When I wandered a last round trough the stands I went with a good feeling about the day home. My ticket was included with goodie bag. And I was glad to find lovely goodies in it! I like the to-go cup and planning to do a review about the Aveda Body Salt.

To be continued Loves!

Lifestyle | Books From Donna.

IMG_3491

IMG_3492

A long time ago I devoured books. I loved to imagine myself in the world of the main characters from the book. When I was reading I forgot the time and my surroundings. I miss those days! Today I’m sharing with you Loves that I started to read again.

IMG_3494

One of my goals of 2016 is to read more, so I started again with where I left off. On page 491 of the book The Secret History by Donna Tartt. The author from Mississippi has truly written a master piece. The book revolves around Richard Papen, his decision to leave his boring fictitious hometown; Plano California and to study Greek language and culture at Hampden College. Richard – son of a simple gas station attendant – romanticizes his wealthy and arrogant fellow students. Which is only five: Henry, the twins Charles and Camilla, Francis and Bunny. Their friendship is not a friendship that you are used to. It is a friendship full of secrets and murder. The more you read the eager you get to know why.

IMG_3496

IMG_3499

I must say, some parts of the book make me shiver and asking myself; how on earth can you be so evil! The mask they all put on is horrible, friendship shouldn’t be like this. How far can you go in a friendship?

Her writing style intrigued me to continue reading. I can’t wait to read in her other book; The Little Friend. It’s hard to explain but I’m sure Loves that you understand what I mean. Which author gives you this feeling too?

Lifestyle | Inspiration For Motivation.

IMG_3317

IMG_3314

My exams are just over and I feel that I’m very tired, having less energy to concentrate on my studies and blog. So I went through my goals to remind myself again.

One of my goals was to enjoy more of the beauty of life. I am definitely an over thinker and waiting on the results of my exams is for me so stressful! To put my focus elsewhere I made some small reminders for myself to remember my goals and I want to share them with you Loves.

IMG_3311

IMG_3319

Whenever you have a long day you want to go to a place where you can relieve yourself and get rid of your daily routine thoughts. This place is my room. At such times, I prefer to be at a place where I can feel calm right away. I just make it comfy for a more relaxed feeling. My blanket will keep me warm when I want to write some of my ideas for my blog in my notebook or just simply write a poem. When I don’t want to write I just use my laptop to watch movies or my favourite series online.

Sometimes during hectic days you cannot find a moment to relax. So a motivation board full of motivational words or quotes is an amazing quick reminder for the hard work you do to reach your goals. How about music? I still listen to the playlist I shared on my blog. During the song you can take a moment to rest from your thoughts.

IMG_3315

IMG_3313

What also don’t take much time, because you are already busy; is to browse in a magazine. I snoop in it to get fashion and beauty inspiration. Because of it I will know the latest trends and get inspired for outfits!

Everyone has his or her own way to get motivated and inspired. Share with me yours!

IMG_3242

IMG_3241

Being recognized of your work is the best feeling in the world and this feeling I would never deny my fellow bloggers simple because it is just not in my nature. We all started from the bottom and are where we want to be or still going strong to reach it. I want to read more blogs then the ones I got my blog spotlight on and mostly I want to meet you.

Enough of the mushy talk! Spam in the comments who you are, about what you write and your blog link. Easy right?

Lifestyle | Hello From The Other Side.

IMG_3017

IMG_3018

IMG_3020

‘’Hello from the other side I must have called a thousand times to tell you I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done, but when I call you never seem to be home, Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I’ve tried.’’

Yes, I’m guilty of listening to Adele’s songs too. But this is not what this blogpost is about. It’s about my rose gold beauty. Hello! I want to share with you Loves an update from my other blogpost about Fashion Goodies Right In Your Pocket.

It was time for a change. I enjoyed all of them and I still enjoy the app All Womenstalk. This app gives you a tour through a woman’s world. From tips; tricks; mindfulness; relationships to recipes you can find it all. Again, I still enjoy the H&M app. I’m even an H&M Club member! Every euro you spend on purchases you collect points for discount vouchers, special offers and exclusive events! Amazing right? Because of it I was invited to the H&M beauty department launch. And you can do it too! Just download the app and subscribe to the H&M Club. Your welcome gift will be 50 points and a 10% discount!

IMG_3022

IMG_3023

Style.com and Fashion Network made place for Vogue Runway. I love this app! I can watch all the fashion shows from all over the world with just a slide away. Sitting front row with just my pyjamas on and a messy bun oh so lovely!

I have a subscription on the Glamour Magazine since 2012 and with the app I can take the magazine everywhere. Perfect for when I’m on the road. This app has nothing to do with fashion but sure hell with life. Clue the app to register your cycle. It calculates your period, your moods, your fertile window and even answers questions like what is PMS? Is my cycle normal? I really recommend this app to Loves who are trying to regulate their periods and trying to get pregnant. As for me it is a great calendar!

I also add Flipagram & Pomelo. Flipagram to make video’s from pictures. I asked you Loves in mine previous blogpost what your thoughts are about me starting a YouTube channel. I am still thinking about it but using Flipagram for my Instagram for sharing my make-up looks is a good start. Speaking about Instagram. I’m even thinking to start using a filter on it to make my Instagram account more professional. Pomelo is a great app to work with.

Further then this all I use standard apps for blogging. Like WordPress and Facebook page. When it comes to social media apps I use Google+ Bloglovin’ Twitter Snapchat (SaidaSnaps) and Instagram like most of you.

IMG_3024

This is it Loves! If you know any apps that are great to use don’t hesitate to let me know.
