‘’Money doesn’t make you happy’ But it makes life easier, right? Since my goal for 2016 is to save money and don’t spend it on rubbish, I even have a no-buy list. Am I sharing with you Loves how I save money.  I confess, I’m a spender. Not a big one! I can say I don’t shop until my wallet drops. I want to avoid it at all costs and to do that I buy things that my wallet allows me to do. Yes, it’s that simple!

To have the possibility to fall back on something, is it therefore useful to have a piggybank. In order to be flexible, I save my money in three sections. It sounds crazy but trust me, it is easy.

In section one I save € 50, – and more in my bank. No questions asked.  In section two I save less then € 50, – in a closed piggybank but still reachable for important and unexpected circumstances. What is less then € 50, -? Well, that would be € 0,50 until € 20, -. In the last section I save less then € 0,50. Which is € 0,05 cents until € 0.20 cents. Those annoying small change will add up if you save it and at the end of a year or even a month change it for big money at a bank. ‘’Small money for big dreams.’’ Literally!

I believe if you save your money in this kind of way, before you know it you have saved a large amount. A year has 365 days, 52 weeks and 12 months. If you couldn’t save something for section one, you can save something for section two and even if that wasn’t possible you always can save something for section three. Even though you saved a small amount you can say to yourself that you saved something and that gives you a good feeling. Because of this flexibility you always can save something in the whole year!

  1. I’ve been saving change for years now as an emergency money for small stuff (beside saving money in the savings account in the bank). Yearly I collect around the amount of money I need for my weekly groceries. I don’t set savings goals because I prefer to do it through online banking, so it’s not much but what a nice surprise when I count it 🙃
