Lifestyle | Apps I Use For Blogging & Instagram.

I’m someone who reads other blogs and search online about apps bloggers/influencers use to make their social media life easier and practical. Bloggers out there know blogging means commitment and apps helps a lot with it! I want to share my apps, maybe you didn’t know these helpful ‘’blogging elves’’ yet.

I’m going to start with the most important thing when it becomes to blogging, studying and working. Having your own space! It doesn’t matter how big or small your house is, having a place where you can work peacefully is a must. Mine is my room and in particularly my desk, where I have everything around me from magazines to get inspiration to a pen and paper to scribble down my thoughts. I understand that for everyone it is different. Sitting on the floor in the middle of chaos called life is perfectly fine too.

The app that I use for my blog is of course WordPress. I found this platform the perfect way to blog. It is easy to work with, it has many options and when you need help WordPress is there to help you quickly and understandable. The next app I use is Business Suite from Facebook, I use it for my Facebook page. When I want to share my blogposts, I use it and to see my statistics. What I also use is Bloglovin’. It is a platform for bloggers who share their blog that you can follow to read their new blogposts. I use it for inspiration and read other blogs, it also helps to redirect readers to your blog! The next one I use is Telegram. This app I mostly use to share my Instagram posts in groups for more exposure. The only app I use for ambassadorships is Brandbassador. By promoting their products by sharing a code, you get commission every time your code is being used.

For my Instagram stories and the latest Twitter Fleets, I use the apps Unfold and StoriesEdit. I love these apps because it adds flair to my stories. For the annoying follow to unfollow people I use Unfollowers for Intsagram and Unfollow for my Twitter. It also shows ghost followers and interactions you get on your accounts. It works perfectly for when your account is public. Unwanted interactions are easy to maintain and easy to block them. Hallelujah for this!

What kind of apps do you use?

Lifestyle | How I Instagram. Tips & Hashtags!

Let me first start with a small disclaimer to this blogpost: I’m not a social media expert, I’m just sharing my way how to be besties with Instagram and her algorithm. Because what I’ve learned from the last six years of blogging and using social media is: Regina George aka Instagram is indeed a mean girl!

I have noticed that there is big difference between social media and blogging then and now. When I first started everything was literally blooming in the social media and blogging field. Everyone was trying to make place for themselves in the field. There were also less exactly the same flowers blooming. Now the field is full of influencers, not a bad thing! They are just better in how to bloom. Secondly, everyone has his or her own way to express themselves on Instagram. I am someone who takes is slow and not seriously, in the meaning of not rushing to hit the big ‘’K’’. 10k, 15k etc. On my Instagram I have 7k (in a lifespan of 6 years) lovely followers who are perfectly enough for me. Especially when I blog only part-time and not for business, but for pleasure.

What worked for me the most, and it sounds cliché, be yourself! No need to photoshop, shrink waists or legs. First, you’re pretty the way you are, and it takes a lot of your time before you post it on your feed! Use this time for something else, like eating a cupcake.

So, my first tip Loves: do you prefer edits on your feed: only a filter is more than enough. Trust me, less is more. Go for a more natural filter. The pink, orange, purple and blue filter is already taken! By a lot…Be Different with the filters. My second tip Loves: don’t use a filter? Like me. I only edit my pictures with the features that comes with your phone or Instagram itself. I only change the brightness and the contrast of my pictures. That’s it! These slightly changes are more than enough, you’ll notice the change instantly. My third tip: keep one colored background of your choice trough your feed. My favorite? White! Even when I post an outfit the natural light works fine. No white background? No worries! I then use something white in my picture. No white background at all? Again, no worries! Adjusting the brightness gives my pictures a white haze. As long the color white occurs, I’m perfectly fine with it. Tip four: find a rhythm of posting on your feed. For example: I start first with posting product pictures after that with outfits after that again product pictures after that selfies. So, on and on. This way to keep it matchy and variously on my feed. Tip five: hashtags! Hashtags! Hashtags! I can’t say it enough Loves. Using them works perfect for me. Also, post them in your caption post! If you wait even for a second to post them in a comment, they’re pretty worthless, as your post will be buried in that hashtag feed the instant you add it. Use popular hashtags, even when they don’t match your niche. I use sometimes celebrities’ names, brands, trending topics and random hashtags. I do this to change my position in Instagram, so that my picture can be find in every corner of the social media field. Last tip Loves: interact! The best way to get exposure is to interact with you followers, your readers and other bloggers. Support also other bloggers who are new in the field. Help them bloom too! I do this by being an admin of a lady’s only group on Instagram. We ladies support each other by liking, commenting and following each other. Want to be in my group too? Slide into my Dm! Sharing is caring, literally.

To end this blogpost Loves, feel free to copy and paste the hashtags! Remember: change them regularly with popular hashtags.

Lifestyle | Am I An Influencer Or Blogger?

This is a question I ask myself since the word influencer got a place in our vocabulary. I started with my blog five years ago and I see big differences from the moment I started until today. I still enjoy writing a blogpost, take pictures and hit the publish button. This hobby is something I would like to keep! But even I cannot deny that the blogging world is changed, this change you either love or hate it. And I have certainly mixed feelings about it!

These thoughts started for me since I noticed that my blog doesn’t get the interactions I use to have. Follows, comments and likes are pluming down and I don’t like it! I’m not hungry for them however, they do show appreciation for my hard work. These interactions are to me proof that I did a good job, I feel appreciated that I get them. You can say that it feels like getting an A for your exam. A good feeling, right?

Yes, I do understand to keep those interactions you should have a strategy. You should know when to post, which hashtags you should use and know all the algorithms of all your social media! Does this not sound to you as an annoying person yapping into your ears? It makes me only feel pressured, doesn’t feel like fun to me. This is the change that I don’t like in the blogging world. To stay relevant, it has to be bigger and better. Or you are just like a needle in a ‘’influencer haystack’’. Don’t let me speak about the dramas that comes with it! #jamescharlesisoverparty #mannymuaiscancelled and many other hashtags that came to life. Ugh, the dragging down of each other, those feuds! To me it is just a waste of time. We all are in the same boat, why is it so hard to mind your own business and be kind and respectful towards each other? And I’m not only talking about these beauty gurus. How about those Instagram influencers who feel too high of themselves to answer a simple blogging related question, because they think that you want to steal their secrets?

Don’t get me wrong, I know how it feels to work hard for something that you put your heart into. And that you want to keep some secrets to yourself because of it. I definitely don’t blame you for this! It is your right to do so however, chill. No need for attitudes! I’m a firm believer of the give and take life motto. Nothing wrong answering a question about which filter you use for your Instagram feed.

To answer my own question, am I an influencer or a blogger? I liked to be called a blogger. I understand the influencing part when it comes to blogging. I write about brands that I love and are bought by myself, but I also worked with brands who sponsored me. I create an opinion about the product, my opinion can be followed or not. Because of it, I influence too. Why am I calling myself a blogger? Because in the five years of my blogging life, I never ‘’took’’ something I don’t believe in. I never got paid for something, I never felt pressured to write a fake blogpost about it. I’m to down-to-earth for that, thank God! Who wants to live in a plastic fantastic world? Not me. I call myself a blogger, because in the five years I blog I have not created a following that are so big, that I can make a brand for myself to sell my own merchandise. I call myself a blogger, because I still write blogposts. My blog is my own creative world, where I can be creative on my own terms and still have a good conscience.

What is your opinion about influencing?

Lifestyle | @SaidaChahidPhotography

As I said in my biography Loves, is being creative an intense way to express yourself. I started with blogging because I want to have my own little place where I can write, use my creativity at taking colorful product photos. Because of it my love for taking photos started to grow. Getting compliments of the photos I take for my blog, certainly helped me taking photography to a next level. My second Instagram account is born, SaidaChahidPhotography. I started this pure to try it out, to give you a glimpse through my camera. I’ll see where this new journey takes me!

So, I already have you meet my camera. Since I have it, it is my showpiece of my whole blogging life. Almost five years and still counting! For this feed I want to have a raw unedited portfolio. No filter, no small adjustment and no photoshop! It felt to be honest so good to do it this way. On my main Instagram account, I only make my photos slightly lighter or adjust a photo to have a white haze, so it matches my feed. I also make the contrast a bit darker. I don’t use a special app for this, the settings in Instagram works fine. I don’t need to much fuss, imagine my feeling when I only use a caption and hashtags for my photography account and hit share. Perfect!

My thoughts for my photography are pretty simple. Whatever looks interesting to me, I’ll shoot it. During summer I shot an outfit in this park. The bows were full in bloom, you’ll see red roses everywhere. It was so beautiful! This time I shot this shot during winter and it gave me a cold view.

A while ago I went with family on a small road trip to Belgium. We visited the Atomiun and of course I needed to take photos of it. I shot many angles, but the one where I stand under it impressed me the most. I could see and feel how massive the bulbs were. The reflection of the sun on them, gave it a futuristic vibe. I imagined than how it would be during the night!

Fashion | GUESS Obsessed.

As long as I can remember, is GUESS one of my favourite brands when it comes to accessories. My first designer bag was a small crossbody blue bag. I was obsessed with it! Since then my love for the brand grew. What I love about the brand is that they have different styles in bags, shoes, wallets and more. From edgy to chic to bohemian, every woman or man will find her or his dream item. I never bought something and later regretted it!

When it comes to bags, I prefer shoppers or handbags with a strap. The first thing that I think about when I look for a bag, is the size the perfect size? I have the habit to take more than I need. So, it has to be a perfect! The shopper is called the Isabeau, I have written a blogpost about it. I wanted an edgy bag, a bag I usually don’t chose easily. But, this time I thought why not? The baby blue snakeskin detailed bag caught my eyes instantly, edgy and yet chic!

My second love for accessories is on the wallets from GUESS. The grey wallet suits perfectly with the Isabeau bag. The wine-red small wallet is perfect for when I decide to take a small bag. My latest purchase is the red wallet. It has many card compartments, an important thing, and golden details. I love that combination, it just never goes out of style! Same goes for the wallet, it has to be the right size. I put cards, of course money and my business cards. I also have coupons and pictures in it. I always make my things personal, especially when they are new. Only then I have the feeling that it’s truly mine.

I always have believed that jewellery makes an outfit complete. The watch has been given to me as a gift by my sister. The bangles have quotes engraved in them. The gold one has ‘’believe in yourself’’ in it and the rose plated has ‘’always & forever’’ in it. Such cute quotes! Definitely ones to remember.

What is your favourite brand?

Fashion | Statement Earrings.

Move over statement necklaces, there is new statement jewellery in fashion town. They have been risen from the neck to ears and are here to stay! Well, at least until a next trend shows up and claims the town. As you know me Loves, I’m hooked on accessories that make an outfit complete. That’s why I like this trend as much as the statement necklaces hype.

Even though you wear your favourite denim jeans with just a white tee these beauties will add some flair onto your outfit. Statement earrings are the perfect fashion item that comes in different styles and sizes next to bags and don’t forget, SHOES! I truly feel in my element if I see a good piece. Who is with me? As much I love to follow trends, how outrageous they can be: I still be close to my own style. That’s why I picked earrings that have a statement vibe but are still simple and sophisticated.

I am a firm believer that golden accessories give a chic appearance. The colour gold in fashion items is timeless and can be worn at many occasions. The upcoming holidays is the perfect time to shine! I like the feather details on the earring, it looks like a dreamcatcher. Rose gold accessories is also a colour that is stepping up on the ladder of timeless fashion items. I see it more and more in stores and I’m not complaining! I chose for a long leaf earring, it looks so good when you wear your hair loose with it. Same goes with creoles earrings, it gives that extra flair to your hairdo.

As I already have written before, I still am close to my own style. I wouldn’t be me if I don’t have a pair or two of simple statement earrings. I like the pink flower one because it comes close to ear studs that I daily wear, it accentuates my jawline. The long silver coloured ones are perfect when you want to keep it down but still want to have your earrings noticed. It looks great with your work outfit and you must go straight to a dinner or party.

Which one do you like Loves?

Lifestyle | My Social Media Habits.

I am without a doubt addicted to my phone. Even as a blogger, am I addicted more than ever. I mostly use my phone for blog related work than for personal use. Whenever you find me on my phone, nine out of ten times I check behind the scenes of my blog. That will be looking at my statistics, comments, answering them, like pictures, read other blogs, follow them and comment on their post. And this is only the usual small tasks that I do. When I’m done with the small tasks, I look online to get inspired for upcoming blogposts. I get this inspired itch mostly from other blogs that share them or online fashion and beauty magazines. I write my thoughts about it on the notes app that iPhone has.

The main habit that I have when it comes to my social media, is that I use punctuation marks with every sentence I write. I’m not a grammar freak, but it looks better. The second habit I have is that if I made a typo, I remove the whole post. This happens more on my Twitter. Yes, I know my lovely followers still understand what I’m saying, my perfectionism speaks louder at that moment.  I also have a neat tic when it comes to using emojis. Blog related post are marked with the black mark emoji and a row of black emoji squares comes in front of my hashtags. On the end of the hashtags I placed the black heart emoji. This is my go to manner on my Instagram. My other go to for my feed, is that the pictures I post mostly have a white background if not, like an outfit post, I give my pictures a white glow just to have an ordered feed. In the beginning of my blogging career I just placed pictures randomly. Since I use my Instagram as a portfolio am I more concerned about the layout. I don’t want it to look too perfect, we already have too many of those feeds. So, I wanted to have a messy-white background-matched feed and I like it!

On my Facebook page, I share automatically new blogposts and some statements and that’s about it. I think this is because I don’t really have the hang of it yet. I just don’t use it as much as Instagram. Same goes for my Bloglovin’ account. I probably should interact on them more. Snapchat (SaidaSnaps) and Twitter are my most used social apps when it comes to sharing personal things. First, the Snapchat filters are so fun to use! Second, Twitter is the perfect place to share my thoughts about college, working out and another chit chat. I also like to retweet other fashion, beauty and lifestyle tweets.

Everybody has an own way on how to use social media, sometimes it scares me because of all the things you can see. The good, the bad and the ugly but, we cannot ‘’live’’ without it. I certainly am.
