I normally don’t get many bad impressions when it comes to buying new makeup. I mostly use the same products, when I need new ones I stick mostly with the products I am familiar with but I wouldn’t be a beauty addict if I didn’t try out other brands. That’s why I loved receiving the Style Tone Boxes. In the future I, will try other beauty boxes out!
Before I start Loves, I have a little disclaimer about the products that I don’t like. It doesn’t mean it is a bad brand, I can be in love with other products from the same brand I just got a product I didn’t like due to scent, pigment etc.
Let me start first with Aveda Stress Fix Soaking Salts. I got it from a goodie bag at the Glamour Magazine Fashion – Vintage Live Event. At first I liked it. It has a lavender scent and lavender is well known as a stress relieving aroma. It got my attention, everybody has their own moments of stress and taking a tub can be indeed relieving but when I used it, I didn’t like the scent anymore! It turned into a lavender chemical ‘’smelly bomb’’ it hit me literally out of the blue and on top of it my skin stayed oily. When I rinsed it of the salts left oily residue behind. I like lavender but I don’t want the be a walking sticky lavender plant!
I love the beauty products from Max Factor, too bad I stumbled on a bad one. The package looks simple yet chic, I like the colour combination black and gold! When I first used it, the first thing I noticed is the scent. It was so harsh and too chemical! It smelled bad. Even so, I thought let me give it a try. It was too pink for my skin tone and the pigment made my facial skin look dry while it wasn’t.
When I have breakouts, I want immediately them gone. To me the most effective way is to dry them out and after that moisturizing it. I thought I found with Garnier Pure Active my holy grail but no it wasn’t. The smell was too chemical. Not ideal if you smear it on your face. It doesn’t work at all and it made my facial skin not moisturized like it supposed to be.
I use my favourite concealer daily and I wanted to give it a rest and try another one out. I shouldn’t have done it! The concealer from H&M was too pale for my skin tone, even If I wanted to fix it by applying a sun kissed bronzer or compact powder it didn’t help. This was a typical ‘’stick with what you know moment.’’ Never again!
I am not a frequent nail polish user but I was a bit hyped about the OPI nail polishes. Just a week later from when I purchased it I saw it dried out. Shaking it and pouring a bit of nail polish remover in it didn’t even work. I threw it away and it felt like I threw money into the garbage can…Literally!
I found in some budget products truly loveable products that they deserve more than the price you purchased it for and then some products I can understand why they are budget. The lipstick from Cien was just a bad colour, it didn’t suit me. In my opinion. Max&More has many good products but their lip glosses are bad. Not good pigmented at all and the scent smells like it is too old for usage. The brown bronzer was too dark for my skin tone. Whenever I used it to contour my face it stayed like dark spots, more like shadows on my face even though I blend the hell out of it! The anti-redness concealer was also to pale for my skin tone. The only thing good about it is it reduces indeed my redness but it changed me into a minty ghost. Too pale!
I think that in the future I don’t purchase these products again but it doesn’t mean I’m not purchasing nothing from the brand at all. That is the beauty of cosmetics, every beauty brands have its wide range of beauty assortment and I as a beauty addict will always get my shot!
